A recent painting of mine to celebrate the coming Spring in New Zealand

Koru forest princess - NZ wool

Deep in the New Zealand bush,a little Koru forest princess dwells. With her beautiful unfurling fern frond,she swayed in the gentle breeze and smiled. When the trampers walked by, they could not detect her, thou they commented on the beautiful ferns laid out on the forest floor.
KORU-The Koru is the Maori name given to the new unfurling fern frond and symbolizes new life,growth,strength and peace.

Some new buds starting to appear, this put me in mind of my Catkin Children

I love it when the wind blows softly and the petals fall on the fresh green grass

Blossom fairies are ever so busy flying around

Some even flew in through the window to say hello

The unfolding of Springs gentle rhythms.

For my Northern Hemisphere friends

Awake,Awake

Awake,awake little green shoot child
Awake to greet the Spring
You have been deep asleep within Mother Earth
You have been gathering all the minerals and energies needed for new growth
Push up,break through Mother Earths solid mantel
Now it is time to greet the Spring
Breathe in the fresh, clean air
Sway in her gentle breezes
Taste the light Spring rain
Feel the warmth of the Spring sun on your face
Awake, awake little green shoot child
Awake to greet the spring

Mother Earth and her babies

Deep underground Mother Earth leaned on her broom and gazed down at the sleeping babies
She was pleased that they would sleep through the harsh winter days
Which were fill of blizzards and snow storms.
She would wake them when the first warm rays of spring sunlight touched the surface above her
How happy they would be, to go up into the spring meadow and smell the fresh spring air
