So...our last post left off during Rec season playoffs. Well, going into the play-offs Kip's, Cole's, and Kade's Ranger team was in first place; the team didn't do so well in the play-offs but they still had a lot of fun.
Kaden played on the Farmingotn All Star A team (which ended up being all of his competition baseball team + 2 more adorable little guys). Their team won the State Championship this year which was a lot of fun.
Kaden's Farmington Fire comp team made it to the Tournament of Champions, which is an honor in itself. They didn't place, but I am told only the top 8 out of 50 comp teams qualify for the tournament. Also I believe Kade's team standings were 2nd place, out of all the 8U comp teams with the Rocky Mtn School of Baseball.
School is back in session. We have a 5th, 3rd, and 1st grader and Easton is going to preschool 2x/week (which he LOVES!).
Fall has been very busy so far. Both Kaden and Cole played Fall baseball. Kade played with his Farmington Fire comp team, and Cole was invited to play with the Kaysville Bulldogs (which is an honor for him since they are an 8U team and he is only 6). Mckayla is playing soccer with the FORZA futbol club and Easton played soccer on a Farmington Flash rec team. Kaden also played football this year (turns out he's pretty great at football too! He was the quarterback, but also he played defense as well! The poor kid played nearly the entire game, every game, and rarely got a break. But he was an animal! --In fact at the end of season football party, Kade received a trophy and a certificate for being an "Animal" on the team.) Now for Mom and Dad this has been A LOT of running around. In fact for most of the fall season, between all of the kids we had 7-8 practices a week and 7 games per week to carpool to and fro...and thats not including Scouts, activity days, or piano. Now if this was ongoing, we couldn't do it...but the craziness over the course of 8 weeks is not too bad :).
Fall sports are now winding down. Mckayla is still playing soccer until the last week of October and then will start up in the Spring again. Cole ended up getting invited to join the Bulldogs Comp team this Spring, so both Cole and Kade continue to have indoor practices through the Winter. We are looking forward to going to St. George in March for the March Madness Tourney which they will both be participating in.
In September Easton turned 4! He constantly reminds me that "I'm not 3 anymore Mom, I'm 4". The day he turned 4 the first thing he said was "Look at my feet and my legs and my hands, they are so big!". Easton is a big kid, he's solid and broad through his shoulders. He may just be my biggest kid yet. In fact, when Cole grows out of something, it goes straight to Easton (even though there is a 2 year gap between them)!. Easton is a sweet heart and a great big brother. He is always playing with Kyler while the kids are at school. Easton is at that age that he says the darndest things. Now Easton's head is pretty big and sometimes we have a hard time fitting it into shirts. We were taking off his shirt to get his pajamas on tonight and his shirt got stuck on his head. When we finally got it off, Easton says "I want to be 3 again! So my head is little! I not like this head, I want a new one!" Oh my heck, how can you not laugh at that? I've been bad at posting all the cute little funny things he says...I'll have to be better at that because I know someday it will be great to come back to. At age 4 Easton is a smart little guy. He knows his letters, numbers, colors and most all of his shapes. He can count to 50 (he gets confused between 30 and 40 sometimes, but still!)! Easton does have some trouble with his speach, and it's difficult to understand him at times...he may need speach therapy in the near future...but if he talks slowly and focuses on what he is saying we can always figure it out :)
October 15th Kyler turned ONE!!! This past year has flown by. I truly look at my baby and wonder where the time went. Kye is such a sweetheart and such a tolerant little boy (I guess we're lucky for that because with 5 kids...he's gotta be!). He has been so much better since his tubes were placed. In fact we have only had one ear infection that needed antibiotics since they were placed...so thats been nice for both him and me. Kyler started walking when he was 11 months old and is now walking pretty good; in fact today he was trying to run! Kye shakes his head "No", waves, will give kisses sometimes, says "Mama, Dada, Baba, and Kitty". He will point at the things he wants or likes....and will let you know the things he doesn't like by arching his back and throwing himself on the floor (which is always fun). He loves balls, wheels or things that spin, and putting lids on things. He loves to open every cupboard door he finds and empty it out....and likes to play in the toilet and garbage too! He is a handful and when he is quiet...you know you are in trouble. He is the perfect addition to our family and we wouldn't trade him for anthing (even if it were a girl :)).
IT'S OCTOBER which =HUNTING which =ME SINGLE PARENT. Yep hunting season is upon us! Kip, over the past 5 weeks has been hunting 17 days and is going again for 5 days this coming weekend. Because he is hunting on all of his days off, I can't work (it has been nice to have the month off, I can't complain about that). But because I can't work, when he is home he is working 19-20 hr shifts (10.5hr shifts at IHC and 8.5hr shifts with the U of U.) I know he's crazy...but serves him right for hunting so much!
Kaden gets to go on the deer hunt with Kip this year and he is super excited. Kip has bought him boots, camo and orange to wear. I think Kip is more excited than Kade (and Kade is pretty excited)...its kind of cute :)
Well, thats our lives. Crazy busy and revolving around kids. Would we have it any other way? Nope!! Life is about family and thats what makes us happy!

Since our last post.....
Well, summer is now in full swing. Baseball continues to keep us busy in the form of All-Star tournaments and RMSB super league playoffs. Miss M, and Mr K., C. and E have been taking swim lessons for the past 2 weeks. This has came to an end as of today; they all passed their levels and will be able to advance next year :). They are all becoming pretty good little swimmers!
Kyler has been sick with the stomach flu and bilateral ear infections for the past several weeks, so we haven't been able to enjoy summer at the pool many times....but the good news is that he is finally feeling better!
In fact Kyler has had 5 bilateral ear infections in the past 6 months. Thats a lot of 10 day antibiotic regimens which were also accompanied by yeast infections and thrush because of the harshness of the antibiotics :( Through it all he has been such a happy kid. Because of the multiple ear infections, and fluid in his ears which was affecting his hearing, Kye had tubes placed this past Tuesday. It was a quick in and out surgery. Kye freaked out a little as he was coming out of anesthesia (I have never seen him like that, nor do I want to again) but all in all he tolerated the surgery really well and is doing great. I can already tell a difference; he is a bit more interactive and doesn't cry when he is laying down...which is soooo great!

Since February....
Since February, obviously a lot has happened in our little family. I wish I had pictures to post, but our computer crashed recently and it won't upload pics, so for now they are all stuck on our SD card :(. I will have to update this post when I am able to add photos, its always more fun to see pics with all the words :)
March: We were able to enjoy St. George for 4 days. Kaden is on an 8U competition Baseball team with the Rocky Mtn School of Baseball. His team is Farmington Fire. St George was their first comp. tournament. The boys had played in the fall together and had been practicing indoor through the winter, so they were excited to get outside and play ball. We had a good time as a family. We went to the games, played in the pool, had dinner with some friends in St. George and just hung out.
On March 28th, Cole turned 6 yrs old! We had a family party to celebrate, and Cole had a great time. Cole at age 6 has a care free attitude. He did excellent in school this year and his teacher always said he was a great student. Coles best friends this year have been Logan and Dallin. They spend most of their time outside jumping or playing sports, and a little time inside playing the Wii. Cole has become a pretty good helper with his little brothers. Since Mckayla and Kade have been in school for a full day, Cole is the big brother @ home, and Easton looks up to Cole a lot!
April 4th, I turned 33. Wowsers I'm getting old! I don't feel 33, but I have noticed that high school aged kids look younger and younger every day :( Kip and I celebrated with a date (which are few and far between for us). Kip took me to Olive Garden (my fave) and to the movie Hunger Games ( I was dying to see it after reading the series). Thanks to Eldon and Jodi for giving us the night off :)
April 28th Mckayla and I, along with my Sister Brooke ran the Color Me Rad 5K Race and UVU. It was fun being able to run with Mckayla. Kayla did great and she ran nearly the whole way. I was really proud of her! We were quite the rainbow of colors at the end of the race, and all of us had patches of blue on our hair and bodies for a couple days after.
May 10th: Kp and Kade and left for the Pocatello Baseball Tournament. It was a quick 2 day tournament. The boys came back with a trophy. They won 1st place out of the whole tournament. AWESOME!!! I wish I could have been there.
May 18th Kip and I celebrated our 11th anniversary. We've been through a lot, espeially a lot of high stress situations in those 11 years like: building 2 houses, moving 4 times, having 5 kids to name a few. I'm happy to say that though we have problems like anybody else, and there is always room for improvement (in any relationship)...our marriage has only gotten stronger. I think we have became more tolerant of each other in many ways. We have also became a team which is a must when you have 5 kids with busy schedules. I am thankful that Kip is my husband and that he is in my life. And as I have said in the past, I would still choose him.
May 19th: I ran my 2nd 1/2 marathon. I somehow talked Kip into running the Ogden 1/2 with me (I told him we needed something in common besides kids :)). I followed my 12 week training schedule pretty close. Kip ran 3 times before running the 13.1 miles and his longest run he ever did was 7 miles. We started the race together...we ran maybe .25 miles together and I could tell Kip wanted to run faster. I told him to run at his pace and if he needed to stop ahead, I would just catch up with him. I kept looking for his bright orange shorts he was wearing but never saw them. He smoked my time by 15 min. I am really proud of him and a little shocked and mad :). He ran 3 TIMES, before he ran the race and he beat me! The punk! What made me feel slightly better was: we ran the race on a Saturday, I was a little sore going down stairs on Sunday and I was back at the gym in my aerobics class on Monday. As for Kip, he couldn't move for about 5 days. I guess thats where training comes in handy, the aftermath.
May 23rd: Miss Mckayla turned 10. TEN!!. I have a child in double digits. CRAZY! Miss Mckayla is my princess, my drama queen, THE BOSS, my helper, and the only one in the family that actually listens to me the first time. Miss Mckayla is friendly, quiet, and loyal to her friends. She already has a few boys who have crushes on her (scary). In fact this year she had flowers delivered to her from a secret admirer. Though Kayla is quiet, she isn't shy. She is a great student and tries hard in school. Mckayla is honest and always wants to do whats right. I am proud of who she is becoming.
**Mckayla's class holds a Mountain Man Rendevou and this was held on her B-day. I was able to volunteer to help with the activities this day and spend Kayla's B-day with her at school. Later that night we went to Johnny Rocket's for a shake, and bought Kayla her own individual cake so that we could sing to her.
May 24th: Mckayla is in her 3rd year of piano and had her piano recital this day. Mckayla played beautifully. Kayla's piano teacher held a contest this spring. The students were graded on certain areas, such as practice, preparation, etc and were given points. If they reached a certain level of points they were awarded a mozart statue. Mckayla earned her statue. But also, Kayla's teacher had a special award for the 2 students who earned the most points. Mckayla was one of them! She got to pick out a special prize which ended up being a cute pair of earrings. We were super proud of her!
May 26th: Kip had his 32nd Birthday. He spent it doing what he loves best these days, which is coaching baseball. We celebrated with cupcakes and cookies with the team and parents.
May 25th-26th, and 28th: Kade/Kip's (I say Kip because he is one of the comp coaches) Memorial day tournament, which was in Springville, Alpine and Lehi. We had a sleepover at Grandma and Grandpa Willis's house in Orem to save in driving time. The boys won 3/4 games on Friday and Saturday which put them in the final brackets for Monday. Unfortunately Monday was only a learning experience, not a win. I didn't go to the Monday game but I was told Kade did an awesome job pitching...we just had a lot of errors in the field :(
May 27th we celebrated Kip and Kayla's B-day with a Family BBQ at our house. We enjoyed spending time with our cousins, aunts, uncles and grandmas and grandpas. Thank you to all who came and enjoyed the day with us!
Also in May: Mckayla had an opportunity to participate in an essay contest in re: to Utah pioneers/ ancesters. There was a cash prize at stake. Mckayla had decided to write her essay on Jacob Hamblin who is 7x great uncle to her. We found out that Jacob had a home in Santa Clara. The home is a historical site and there are tours given there. While we were in St. George in March, we visited the home and got information on Jacob Hamblin. We learned a lot of interesting things and it really brought her essay to life. In May, all of the 4th grade classes met toghether for the essay awards. There was a 1st place winner who won $10.00 and an overall winner who won $30.00. Mckayla won 1st place and won 10 bucks!
June: Schools out for SUMMER!! All the kids had fantastic school years. They all had great report cards and their teachers all said that they were great students. Hard to believe the 2011-2012 school year has came to an end.
I guess I will throw an update on Kyler in here as well. Kye is rolling all over, sitting really well and getting really close to crawling. He is a big little guy. At his 6 month check up he weighted in at nearly 20 lbs. He is in the 80th percentile for weight and 75th for height. Kye is such a joy to have in our family. We are truly blessed with his sweet spirit. He is a good baby, and very tolerant of all the kisses, hugs, pokes in the eye (by Easton), and joggling around. The poor kid has had 4 ear infections (sometimes involving both ears at at time) in the past 7 months. If he has one more we will need to see an ENT and get tubes placed in his ears. I'm crossing my fingers we won't need to do that.
Of course with all that I have mentioned, Spring sports have also started. Kip is coaching Kaden and Cole's Rec team. They are the Rangers this year. We had Cole play up to pinto so that Kip could coach both of them and we could minimize games. Also, E played Tball this year . He was so thrilled to have his own Baseball shirt, pants and cleets. And Mckayla played soccer. Kayla always gets a lot of kicks in and helps out the team a lot but she has never been able to make a goal....until this year. We are happy for her.
Tball and Soccer have come to an end but the Rangers are still playing. Their team is in first place going into the play offs. It would be awesome for the kids to go all the way! We will see....
Also of course we have comp games, double headers, every Saturday. Kade's team, is doing pretty good in super league. I believe they have only lost 2 games, which gives them a pretty good standing.
Well I hope I have remembered all the important things I wanted not to forget. LIfe is busy and crazy, but we wouldn't have it any other way :)

was a very special day for the Willis Family
Kaden turned 8 years old
and was baptized on his Birthday
Its been a very busy weekend! Kaden turned 8 on February 11th. He made the choice to get baptized. When I say that Kaden made the choice, he truly did. He understands what it means to be baptized and he understands that he is accountable for the choices that he makes. Kaden is a good kid and a great example to others. He is caring and kind and always wants to do his best.
Last week in fast and testimony meeting he bore his testimony...which in turn was testimony building to me. He testified that in the Book of Mormon it states that if you choose the right and keep the commandments then you will prosper in the land but if you don't keep the commandments then you will be cut off from God. He also said how excited he was to get baptized so that he can be a memeber of the church and have the Holy Ghost with him always. His testimony is solid and sure.....I anticipate him being a great missionary in the future.
Kaden has been reading his scriptures both with the family but also on his own. He is now to the book of Jacob. He tells me the stories of the Book Of Mormon after he reads, so I know that he is understanding most of it.
I am so proud to be Kaden's mom and to have the joy of watching him grow both physically and spiritually. It is an honor.

After the baptism and blessing we were able to celebrate Kaden's Birthday with family and friends. We are thankful for the support everybody showed to our family that day. It truly meant a lot to our family.

Kyler Rolled Over!
Just thought I would jot a quick note down about Kyler. A few days ago we had him on his belly for "tummy time". He is getting really good at holding his head up...he gets stronger every day! Well, like I said, he was on his belly and we looked over and there he was on his back. Then again today, every time we put him on his belly for "tummy time", he eventually ROLLS OVER onto his back. He is now officially 3 months old as of January 15th. He is getting too big too fast! I am cherishing every moment of my last baby's oohs, aaaahs, and giggles.
And so it begins...

We had a brief break from sports, and now we are back at it. Right now it is only Kaden, so its not too bad...but come Spring, the 4 older kiddos will once again be playing soccer and baseball.
A week ago I got an unexpected email from one of Kade's old soccer coaches asking if he could be on her indoor soccer team. Kade loves soccer and it keeps him active so we went ahead and signed him up for indoor. Last Saturday was his first game playing indoor soccer. Each year it gets funner and funner to watch. Kaden's team slaughtered the other team, nearly doubling their score...and I have to brag about my Kade, he made almost half of his team's goals.
Competition baseball is also taking off now. Kaden has 2 indoor practices a week right now, and in March he has his first tournament in St George. I think its great because it gives us a reason to get away as a family and have some fun somewhere else.
