Getting Caught up!
Well, it has been a while since I have updated, so I thought I had better update! First of all we had the baby! Samuel Benjamin was born on August 31,2001 at 4 am. He was 4lbs 12 oz. and 20 inches long. He was just under two weeks early.
I had started spotting the day before I had him. I went in to the Dr. and she said I was not dilated or anything when I went to see her. this was less than 24 hours before I had him. I had my baby shower that night. Then at 2am I woke up in active hard labor. I was not sure if it was labor or not though, because it felt different than normal labor. With this being my third you'd think I would know what labor is! Anyways, Ben called the hospital to see what they thought we should do. They told him that we could come in if we wanted to and they would check me, or we could stay home and see if it got better. Well we waited a while and then decided we had better go. That was the longest, hardest, most painful ride I have ever had! We got there and I had the baby within an hour. The nurses were extremely surprised when they checked me when I got there. They had to hold the baby in while the Doc put her gloves on! Anyways, he was born and we were all surprised at how small he was. This was due to the fact that I had a small placenta for some reason. Because he was so small, we had to watch his blood sugar levels. within a few hours of birth he had been put on an i.v. of sugar water. He was on it for five days. The night before we left he had jaundice. Thankfully, we were able to have him under the bili lights for the night and he was better by morning. Then we were able to go home!
The girls have done amazing with baby Sam or Sammy as we call him. Becca is always bringing me his binki for me, and I am constantly sending Penny downstairs for diapers or what not.
Penny has now started school. She goes half days and absolutly loves it! She loves to ride the bus. Her bus stop is just a couple houses up from us so it is easy to get to. Becca is enjoying bieng able to use whatever toys she wants while Penny is gone, but she also misses her and is excited when Penny gets home.
