A mother's job is never done....even when you become a grandmother....

I found this picture today and thought it was wonderful. I wish I had seen it when I was a young mother. I still feel the need to make sure my children and grandchilden know and love the Lord.

Lowry Family Party

We had the annual Lowry family Christmas party on Dec. 16th at my nephews home in Provo. Just wanted to share the pictures with everyone. We ate, played games, opened presents, mingled, caught up with one another. I love that we get together every year. I promised my mom that I would do this. She loved getting us together at her clubhouse. If she was still alive she would have loved seeing us and being with her kids,grandkids and great grandchildren.

ThAnKsGiviNG 2012

Thanksgiving was a little crazy this year for me. The kids all went to Denver to be with their dad and the Taysoms. I was in LA working and didn't even get home until Thanksgiving afternoon. Dan picked me up and we went straight to his sisters home in Genola.
Thank goodness I wasn't hosting dinner this year as we barely made it to her house on time. I was relaxed once I knew I was going to make it home and was on the plane and it was on time! There had been a strike at the LA airport the day before and it was all crazy.

A guy I met at work the other day told me about his dads train hobby and that the family sets up a major train ride venue at Christmas time for free and invited me to take my grandkids. Well of course I took his number and called imediately to set up a reservation. This was on Friday and I got a reservation for Monday night at 6:52! 6:52, I thought was a weird time. Well the train ride leaves the station every 8 minutes and they have it timed down to the minute. They don't mess around!
 
I called all the kids and they all could go  and we showed up Monday night 10 minutes early per instructions. They were so organized that they usher you into a heated "decorated" garage to watch Polar Express while waiting. It was so nice and the kids immediately were focused on the movie and not bugging us while we waited. Hey, I even got into the movie while waiting!

 
Soon it was our turn and they lined us up and gave us instructions of what not to do on the train. Then we boarded and we were off on a fun little adventure. It was amazing how much train track was all over this guys yard and pretty much took up a whole block meandering through different yards. I kept thinking that "This guy spent alot of time laying all this track!" Wow, and that this has to all be family members that live on this block to let him put it everywhere in through their yards,

 
We were greeted by delightful little children elves that ushered us ino Santa's workshop.

Then the kids visited with Santa...

 Santa reminded the children that Christmas is really about celebrating the Saviors birth. We sang a Christmas carol as we boarded the train again that took us to a stable that showed the birth of Jesus and then took them on a pictorial ride showing the life of Christ. It was all for FREE too! Wow!
 
At the end of the ride we were sent to an area that we could write a message to a missionary or to a soldier that would later be mailed off. There were two tables filled with cards to be written on.
It was a very fun Christmas activity. I highly reccommend it here is the link stringtown.us
