Lily's date

Lily was supposed to have her date with mom and dad a couple of weeks ago but she was very sick. So we went today. She chose this colorful Panda and she named her Shiny and Bright. Then she decided to have lunch at Smashburger. We loved spending the day with our sweet Lily bug.

Sweetest Christmas present

On Christmas morning the kids woke up and came into my room and said don't come out yet we have to set something up. When we came out they were holding a big sign that said Merry Christmas mom and dad and it said caution you may have to kiss under this mistletoe. They are the sweetest kids ever.

These heating pads were a fun little winter sewing project for me and the girls.

Christmas shopping with Dad

It has been 20 plus years since we have started this tradition of shopping with my dad every Christmas for my mom. It is something I look forward to every year. I love spending time with my dad and sister, we always have such a great time.
As a little girl I would look forward to the day my dad was coming to check us out of school and we would get to spend the whole day shopping and eating out. This is such a fun tradition. And Jon has now started it with our girls.

Lashes

I decided to get eyelash extensions and I told the girl doing them that I would like them to look kind of natural. I woke up the morning after I got them and looked in the mirror and I thought they were a little bit crazy, a little longer and thicker than I was expecting. I got a little teary eyed thinking I looked kind of weird. And went out to make the kids breakfast. I asked the kids does mom look crazy? Calvin said, " no mom you look pretty." Lily said, "well... maybe a little crazy." And Ava said, "you just need some lipstick." I love my kids and they're funny personalities. Here's a picture so you can decide.

Style

My little Ava has such a fun sense of style. She's spunky and cute and fancy. She loves to get dressed for school each morning and she never fails to surprise me with her choices. She is so dang cute I just love her.

First tooth

I can't believe my little three-month-old Lana cut her first tooth today. It seems like the other kids didn't get their first teeth until they were six months old.

Yoga

I have really found a great love for yoga over the last year. It helped me through my pregnancy and it helps me with different stresses and it makes my body feel so great. Since I have had Lana, yoga has been a real blessing. And I absolutely love the new teacher at the gym I go to. I count yoga as one of those great blessings in my life.

Jon's big change

About a week after I had Lana a job opening came up at the corporate office for central Utah water Conservancy District. Jon kept getting the feeling like he should apply for it and everyone kept telling him that they were considering his name even though he hadn't applied yet. The position was for an electrical technician in the O&M department. We went over the pros and cons several times. The pro being a set schedule Monday through Thursday 10 hr shifts. The con being that Jon really wanted to be the maintenance supervisor at the plant one day and had been waiting for that job to open but it would probably be a couple more years before that happened. Also he really loved working in the plant and he loved everybody there. But shiftwork was kind of getting hard on the family. And his body. He went to the temple and prayed about it and felt very strongly that he should apply. After interviews and such he got an offer that he felt was right for our family and he accepted the job. His boss wanted eight more weeks with him, so he didn't start his job until November 3. He has been there a couple weeks and he has really enjoyed it. He is also in school taking a refresher course to on AutoCAD. So we haven't experienced the full benefits of the new schedule yet but it is better than the last eight weeks of swingshift that we did. That was really hard with the new baby and kids in school. Trying to get dinner and homework done and help a fussy baby in the evenings by myself. So I am very excited for a normal schedule. It is Monday through Thursday 6 am to 4:30 pm. We are so grateful for our blessings and we hope that this job will be great for our family.

Lana's blessing day

 

Today, September 28, 2014, Lana was blessed by her dad. She was given the name Lana Rose Sudar.  Jon gave her such a wonderful blessing. The spirit was so strong. A few of the things I remember from the blessing: she would have a strong intellect. and that she would have a great relationship with her Savior and understand the atonement and the blessing that it is in her life. and that she would stay close to the spirit and Heavenly father and want to be married in the temple. One of my favorite parts of the day was when my husband and all of my brothers and brother-in-law's and dads and grandpas walked up to bless little baby Lana. There was such a strong spirit of priesthood power it was undeniable. I am so grateful to be surrounded by so many family members who love and support us. Jon's mom made Lana's beautiful blessing dress and my mom bought her cute little booties and headband. We had a nice brunch here after sacrament meeting. It was a beautiful day.

 

At least she was honest

Tonight I was reading a book to the girls and Ava was sitting by my side. Out of the corner of my eye I saw her pick her nose and put her hand down by her side as if she was being secretive. I waited to see what she was going to do. Then she slowly lifted her finger up to her mouth and I turn my head and said, "don't do it!" She asked why and I said I told you 100 times boogers are gross and full of germs and if you eat it I will have to take you to the doctor because it might make you sick. she looked down at it and I said , "that's gross, does it look like food." She said "but mom, I like the taste." 

Oh yuck! Why do little kids like to eat boogers, it is so gross? I wrote this down as blackmail for when she's older. She won't believe she said it. Haha

Sleep

Lana is eight weeks old today and last night she slept from 11 o'clock at night until 6 o'clock in the morning. She has been such a good little sleeper the last 2 wks. It seems like by eight weeks old all my babies had it figured out and they would sleep for at least five hours at one time and Sometimes up to seven hours. And then go back to sleep after being fit for a couple more hours. I have such good sleeping babies and she is no exception. She is kind of fussy in the day but since she lets me sleep at night, I am happy rock and bounce her in the day.

Fun times

My mom brought the cousin up last night to sleep over because Joe and Jamie are running the Ragnar with Jon and my dad. We had a fun time watching movies, going to the parade this morning, and the carnival. I love that the Cedar Hills parade is in our backyard, it's fun to just be able to walk out there and have a great seat. And the carnival is low-key and It has lots of free stuff to do. The kids had a blast and now we are all exhausted.
