5 months!

Okay so I didn't even make it until Christmas before Bosco was replaced with yet more pictures of Logan. How sad!! We had Logan's checkup visit at the doctor last week and he weighed in at a healthy 15 pounds 11 ounces and is 26 inches long!! He said that Logan looked great!! Logan has rolled over once, and that was it!! It's like he did it to show me that he could do it and then never cares to do it again. It did make me feel better to know that he could at least do it though so that was thoughtful of him to show me:)


He LOVES his bath time. He splashes and plays all around in the water and then he is always ready for bed afterwards, it's great! We almost always have to keep a pacifier in his mouth though because otherwise he tries to drink all the water!!

I have been putting him on his tummy as much as possible just so he can strenghten those muscles but he hates it. This picture captured the way he looks at you the whole time if he actually isn't crying:(

We had our ward Christmas party on Saturday. We couldn't resist taking Logan to sit on Santa's lap and getting a few pictures even though he doesn't care at all obviously. I think he was just confused why we sat him on some stanger's lap and then walked away. He just stared right at Jared and I the whole time like "Don't leave me!"

He has definitely started grabbing at everything near him. I have to wear my hair in a ponytail at all times or he will seriously rip out chunks of hair. Well nothing changed when it was time to sit on Santa's lap. He was determined to get Santa's beard off and you can tell Santa is a little worried about keeping it on!

getting in the Christmas spirit!

So since my blog is overwhelmed with pictures of Logan, I thought I would add this picture of Bosco. He has literally been doing everything possible to get our attention ever since Logan was born. I saw these antlers in the store and couldn't resist. When I brought them home to put on Bosco he was just so happy that I was paying attention to him and actually pointing the camera at him for once! Poor guy. I'm sure that once Christmas comes and it being Logan's first Christmas the blog will once again be filled with all sorts of Logan pictures! Well I am so excited for Christmas. We are going to be able to spend 10 days in Kentucky with both families. We are flying out with the rest of the Alders and spending Christmas in Lexington with Jared's sister Amy and her family...and since they are only an hour away from my family we will be able to spend plenty of time with both families! What a wonderful Christmas!! I just love this time of year...it is without a doubt the best time of the year. It doesn't seem to matter how stressed out you are, if you put on Christmas music or sit by the tree you instantly feel better!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Big boy!

I thought I would add a few photos that I have just randomly taken lately. I know that this blog is the only way that people far away can keep up with what's going on with Logan so I thought I would just put some new pictures in. He has really grown lately. People keep saying how he all of the sudden just got so much bigger. We weighed him the other day and he is almost 15 pounds!! Definitely getting big!! He is such a little angel...being a mom is the greatest!

not quite ready!!

So lately it seems like Logan is always hungry so I thought maybe it's time to add a little cereal to his diet and he will feel more full! Well of course since he has never eaten from a spoon before, he wasn't quite sure what to do...and neither was I! It was quite a task and by the end I think we both decided he's not quite ready yet!!


Mom I don't think this is working....


Mom I'm starving!! I guess my hands will just have to do!


What do you say we make a deal and let me just do this myself??

Logan is really getting good at holding his head up. I can't believe how strong he is getting. I'm sure he will be rolling over in no time!

12 weeks already!

Logan is now 12 weeks old. I can't believe how big he is getting. This week he weighed 12 lbs. 2 oz. It's amazing how much of a difference a few pounds can make!


Logan's hair is definitely in a strange stage! He lost most of his hair a few weeks after he was born and new hair has started to grow back in. But the hair in the back never fell out so it's way longer than the rest. It makes Jared and I laugh every time we look at it!!











Wouldn't it be nice if people were always this excited to see you???

morning routine!

We have started a new morning routine! Each morning I take Bosco and Logan on a walk. It is still so hot outside, but it's getting a LITTLE better. Logan loves looking around at all the trees and everything outside, but he usually falls asleep by the time we get home. It's great because he will sleep most of the morning afterwards, and it lets me get some work done (that is why it is worth tolerating the heat during the walks)!! Bosco loves the walks too because the poor guy is cooped up all day. He loves being able to roam the neighborhood even if it's only for a short time!

One of my friends had this on their blog and so I had to go to it to try it out. I can't figure out how to get the whole thing to fit on the page so this will have to do for now. It said that Logan looked more like Jared by 7%. So I guess it settled it once and for all, Logan looks like his Dad!

getting bigger!!

Logan had his 2 month check up last week and the doctor said he is doing great! He now weighs 11 lbs. 4 oz and is 24 inches long. He has grown 3 inches since he was born!! He is going to be tall like his daddy! We discovered this week that he loves loud noises. This whole time we have been trying to be quiet around him, and then to our amazement he fell asleep as soon as we turned the vaccuum on. This morning, he was crying but I had to get ready to go somewhere and as soon as I turned on my blow dryer, he fell fast asleep! Who would have thought??!!


He loves riding in the car so whenever we get home he is usually asleep. I love this picture because it shows his big feet and cute little toes!









This swing has been a life saver...he loves to take naps in it during the day. Somehow the blanket he was in ended up only wrapped around his belly, but he didn't seem to mind!

Logan

Logan will be 9 weeks old tomorrow. We can't believe how fast time is flying by!! He is growing and changing so much from week to week, it is amazing! It has been so fun to see him learning new things and starting to interact more. He loves to stare at fans and lights and also loves to hear his Mom and Dad talk to him:) These are a few pictures we have taken over the last couple of weeks...

He loves to lay in his crib and kick his arms and legs around. He can only do it for about 15 minutes though and then he is exhausted and has to take a nap!

Labor Day Weekend

We spent Labor Day weekend in Pima, Arizona with Jared's extended family. It was the first time that Logan met his Grandma Rita, Grandpa Moody, and some of his cousins, aunts, and uncles. We had a great time seeing family and just getting out of town for a few days!


















A brief rain storm passed by while we were there and it was so beautiful being able to see the rain coming in front of the mountains! I just had to take a picture!

We welcomed our new baby boy on July 9, 2007 at 6:34 pm. We named him Logan Michael Alder. He was 7 lbs. 7 oz. and 21 inches long. He has been so much fun...we LOVE being parents!!
