Welcome Home Soldier!

I have a precious friend whose son is deployed to Iraq. He came home yesterday and we were there with their family and friends to welcome him back. He is such a nice guy. He will be home for 18 days then he goes back to Baghdad to finish his deployment. He is scheduled to be there for a total of 15 months, so that would make October his coming home for good date, but with everything going so much better over there the deployments are being shortened to 12 months. We are all praying his orders change. Please don't forget to lift up these brave men and women. They are giving up so much to keep us free!

Christmas 2008

We had a wonderful Christmas this year...lots of fun and family time! We made gingerbread houses, painted ornaments, baked cookies, watched Christmas movies and played, played, played!

Also, Madie found a pair of crutches and concocked this story that she broke her ankle to trick everyone on Christmas day. I guess she proved that old myth true: if you play with crutches you will be the next one using them. She was playing with a friend a few days later and sprang her ankle! Luckily it wasn't too bad and was walking on it by Christmas Eve.

Slide Show

Finally, after trying this with two other websites I have successfully created a slide show! So, here are a few random pics from last summer, but mostly they are from our vacation to CA. We had so much fun! We went to Grand Canyon, Yosmite, Disney, Newport Beach and the Sequoia National Forest. Yosmite was my very favorite! Enjoy...

Camping

I'm breaking away from Christmas news and sharing some pics from camping trip my boys went on a month or so ago. It was a dad trip, so two other guys went and brought their kidos. I'm sure you will recoginze them. They had such a blast! They took their tents and really roughed it. I'm sure as "Austie" gets older I will be forced to enjoy a camping trip or two. Don't know how good I will be at roughing it...LOL. I better get used to it...three boys, I mean four!

Fun Christmas Project

The kids has so much fun making their gingerbread houses! I think they did great. Reed's house is on the left, Madie's in the middle and Micah's on the right.

Back...again!

Here I go again! I'm going to try and keep my blog updated. I just haven't had the time to make it my own with the right creative and all. Going to start trying. Will post some seasonal pictures soon.

Fort Hood

This evening Tim and I are headed to Fort Hood for a military ministry seminar. I am working with members of my church and the community to begin reaching out to the soldiers in our area. I'm so excited about going! Please pray that God will open our hearts to receive His plan for framing this important ministry. I'll let you know how it goes!
