October is Best

We had so much fun this month with all things Halloween from pumpkin patches, to the Halloween Expo, to Gardner Village, carving pumpkins and even a Witches Night Out for me & Rylee.  We love this time of year!!

Ending with a win and our whole family there was a great way to end a rough season that ended too soon.  So proud of my boys for all their hard work and dedication to this sport we all love!!

Alaska

This road trip was one for the books!!  I am a sucker for a good road trip and this one was no exception!!!  It was such an adventure helping Telisa haul her trailer loaded with the essentials and her 3 precious boys from Sandy, Utah to Fairbanks, Alaska in 4 days.  We saw it all - beautiful country, variety of awesome animals, antique gas stations, snow, sun.  We did it all - potty breaks off the side of the road & in some really sketchy bathrooms, refilling the truck with our spare gas cans a few too many times, stayed in a few sketchy hotels and cabins,  had to stop one night short of our goal because of snow, ate too much junk food and caffeine, but luckily never had to change a flat tire.  We learned that Canada is probably not the place for us - no fountain drinks at any of the gas stations!! We laughed our way across the country even when there were times we should probably have cried!  Everyone kept telling us that they couldn't believe we felt confident that we could do this on our own and I will admit I was pretty nervous until we actually got on the road.  Even when I was driving through the worst snow storm ever, pulling a trailer, in country I had never been in, I felt complete peace that everything would be fine and we would make it safely there.  I like to think that we had some help from the other side to make this journey!!  The hardest part of the whole trip was saying goodbye to the Van Leeuwen's and heading home.  We miss them so much and can't wait to go back and visit again.

My Boys

Not sure how much longer I will have my 3 guys out on the field together, but for me this has been such a joy to watch them work together - 2 coaching and 1 playing.  I know it has been so hard for Gunnar to just be a coach and not a player, but he has been a great coach to the Sophomore linebackers.  They love and respect him and he has taught them so much.  Chad is also an amazing coach and it is so fun to see these boys around town and they go out of their way to come and talk with Chad.  He has taught them all way more than just football.  This has been a big year for Zach being able to play varsity ball, but it has also come with lots of disappointing losses.  He has seemed to handle it all with grace.  He is already planning on working hard during the off season and coming back even bigger, stronger and faster!!  Love these 3 so much!!

Karate Girls Does It Again

It is getting harder and harder for this girl of ours as she moves up in rank towards her black belt.  As you can see she competes with a bunch of boys and has managed to hold her own.  I was on my way to Alaska for this graduation, but Chad did great getting pictures and cheering her on!  

My #20

I always film the games, so I don't end up getting too many pictures during the game.  But this week Zach was chosen to be one of the captains of the varsity team.  He was pretty excited about it.  A few of the things I love about watching him play - he is a leader (even as a Sophomore on the varsity team), he teammates respect him (most of them will come ask him questions about where they should be because they know he knows), he is the first to help a player up, by the end of the game he is best friends with the refs, he isn't afraid to tackle someone twice his size, he is always the first one on the field when the team runs onto the field before the game and after half time, when he is not in the game is by the coaches - listening, learning and probably teaching!

A Few of Rylee's Favorite Things

Cats & Halloween - we love this girls spunk and love of all animals, but especially her cats and horses!!  Her and Bodie had a sleepover with Cruz and Cali, the cats were loving it.  Halloween is our favorite holiday and I usually put together a little treat bag or craft for the kids, but this year I did some for the Van Leeuwen boys for their long road trip to Alaska.  I miss having little kids and it was so fun to put these together.

Homecoming Heartbreaker

When I found out we would be missing the homecoming game during our show, I was pretty upset.  I hate missing my boys games, but big games like this are even harder to miss.  Zach had had a stressful day the day before the game and I was really struggling that I wasn't there to help.  I made a phone call to a friend and she came to the rescue!!  Thank you Sadie!!! She put together a treat basket and a note from us and gave it to Zach with a big hug from me!  He went on to play his best game of the season, so I guess I need to be gone for more of his games!!  We were so grateful for the technology that made it possible to watch the game from our hotel room.  Just wish they could have come away with a win, but we were so proud of the way Zach played!

BHF

Another great show - long busy days, but it was so great to have 4 of our kids with us this year!  Zach loved being home alone, but was pretty happy to welcome us home after a long week!!  I'm pretty sure this is Rylee's favorite week of the year, she has so many friends at the show, and keeps pretty busy handing out trophies, dog-sitting, helping in the office, and playing with all her gifts she receives every year from her sweet friends.  Hopefully next year she will actually get to show as well.

It's still not quite real to me that I have more 'adult' kids than actual kids, but so proud of all they have grown up to be!  Gunnar is starting to realize birthdays aren't quite the same when you are an adult.  He had to work and had to coach football, so I made him his favorite breakfast and brought him a milk shake to the game.  We spent the Saturday before shopping in Park City and just being together!  We love our G-man to the moon and back!

Back to School

So crazy that we only have 2 at home now!!  Zach was both excited and nervous for high school!!  Nervous about the fact that he has 10 classes to keep up with, excited about everything else!!  Rylee was so excited to be heading back to school to see all her friends and be a big 5th grader!!Jes & Kourtney both started classes this week as well.  Jes is attending online at Weber State and Kourtney is at Utah State.  I ask them to send me some back to school pics and this is what I got!  

You Win Some You Lose Some

This week we played Skyline - our JV and Sophomore teams killed them, but the varsity game was a different story.  They were a great team and most of our boys did not play their best game.  It was a heartbreaker, but I know they will regroup and be ready for next week's game!

Varsity Ball

Zach was pretty excited to be starting on defense this year!!  It has been his goal for a long time, and he did not disappoint tonight!  He played great, and of course the coaches did a pretty great job as well!!

Your Gonna Miss This

Rough weekend for us when we took Kourtney up to Utah State.  She was so excited, and it was so fun helping her get all settled in, but it was no fun at all saying goodbye!  Rylee is not sure she is going to survive without either sister at home.

 And if that wasn't hard enough, Gunnar moved out the next day.  He is much closer and we will see him almost every day because he works here, but it's still hard on a mama to have her kids move away from home.  

NTB

Rylee, Chad & I got to go listen to the Nashville Tribute Band again this year.  They have become our favorite band and we could listen to them sing all night!  I invited my mom, dad, Telisa to come and we still had a few extra tickets so Jovie came as well.  And in typical Dennis Peters fashion, he found someone in the book store to give our last ticket to!  

My Boys are Back!

I love this time of year!!  Fall is by far and away my favorite season.  I love the weather, the beautiful colors, the smells of pumpkin, apples and of course football!  Another year of 3 Beus boys down on the field together.  My cup runneth over!! 

Last Days of Summer

This was Chad & Gunnar's summer project - making more room for our new horses.  It has been quite the project, hopefully they finish before winter.

 Rylee had a pretty awesome summer and finished it off just the way she wanted - swimming, spending time with her pets and cousins. 

 We even found time to color her hair with kool-aid.  

 We had so much fun babysitting Duke for a few days.  He was such a great helper and Rylee loved having a little brother to take care of.  We wish we could have taken him longer!!

Fiesta Days

We took our young men and young women to the flag burning ceremony, this was the first time I had been to one.  It was really cool and patriotic.  The wind blowing made it a little more smokey than we would have liked, but it was still awesome!

The last few years it has just been me and Rylee at the carnival, but she somehow talked Chad in to going with us this year!

 We always love the rodeo - Rylee was more concerned about the calves being hurt and eating as much sugar as possible.  This were the best pictures I could get - they are so cooperative when I try and take their pictures!

The Boys Are Back

It was kind of a teaser of things to come this season.  After a week long team camp we headed down to SUU Friday for some scrimmages.  It was a long day, for my boys.  Zach played well, and was completely worn out by the end.  Can't wait for football season to officially be here
