Easiest Birthday Party Ever!

Mckenzie had the easiest party ever! It was a critter party. We hired this lady named MaryBeth who brought all her little critters and taught the kids about them. They got to hold them or pet them. My favorite part was watching all those girls hold the cockroaches. Yikes! Believe me, I counted how many cockroaches she brought and how many she took home.

It's a Boy!!!!!!!

I have officially lost all sense of good judgement and bought a dog. :) Good thing he's cute! The kids love Patches, especially Mckenzie. I think I just bought her a best friend. It's definitely been an adjustment around here, but we like him.

School is Out!!!!

I couldn't be happier to be out for summer break!!!! The boy to the left of Mckenzie bullied her all year :(. Poor Mckenzie is so glad she is home for the summer.

Elisa on the other hand has cried and cried because school is out. She loves her teacher, loves her friends, and misses them already.

We went to Thanksgiving Point to celebrate!

I can't believe it! We ran a half marathon today! I don't think there is any muscle in my body that doesn't hurt right now.

My awesome friend Tara and I crossed the line together. I'm just happy we ran the whole thing.

A lizard in my house, and Elisa turned 8!

Elisa brought home the class pet on her birthday! Does it get better than that for a 8 year old? Surprisingly Mic, the lizard, was not a bad pet. Honestly I think I would rather have a bearded dragon lizard than a dog. Did I just say that?

He was quiet and hardly moved. Mckenzie was afraid to touch him the first day, but she got over it as you can see.

She didn't want it to go back to school this morning.

Elisa had to have her hair done perfectly for school on her birthday. I knew she would grow out of not wanting me to do her hair.

She got just what she wanted, a desk. She loves to write, and is excited to have some space she can claim her own, besides her bed.

First Day of Kindergarten

I am going to miss my time with Mckenzie, but she loves school. After the first time she met her teacher at Kindergarten testing I asked her what she thought about her teacher and she said, "I liked her clothes, and I loved her necklace!" Then after the first day of school I asked her again what she thought of her teacher and she replied, "Her skirt was cute because it had a flower on it, but I didn't care about her shirt because it was just black." So, I guess Ms. Babb gets approval from the fashion princess. Maybe someday I will hear about her personality.

We are so proud of Dave for running a half marathon yesterday! When he got done and could hardly move he asked me if I want to run the next one with him. Seriously? 13.1 miles? I am impressed he could crack out a smile right after he got done. Go DAVE!!!
