a trip to the zoo...

meridith and i took jake to the zoo here in monroe last week...it was a beautiful day and he really enjoyed it- he just wanted the animals to wake up!

snow day...

we had a great time on our snow day off from school. we went to the levee with joey and meridith and took the ranger, four wheelers, and tubes for some fun! the snow was so thick and powdery in transylvania! we had a blast!

a few...very late...christmas pics

santa brought jake a four wheeler -with a chain! jake decided christmas eve -as we were saying our prayers- that he'd like santa to bring him a chain with his four wheeler so he could pull bob out of the mud. i called jason- who was out delivering christmas presents- to break the news that we had to find some sort of chain for this four wheeler. so he came home with a chain that we knew would work. we put it on the back rack of the four wheeler so jake would see it. i honestly think he was more excited about that chain than the actual four wheeler- he carried it around all day. he'd sneak out of the house and have his four wheeler chained to jason's truck and he'd take off at full force- it was hilarious!

these are just a couple from nana and bob's. jake really liked jaxun's drum set that santa brought him...he wanted to know why santa couldn't bring drums to his house and i said- well...because he brought jaxun a set for you to play when you visit. ha!

the polar express...

we went on the polar express train ride a couple of weekends ago and we had a blast- it really was a magical experience and i think everyone should take the time to do it. we boarded the train with our golden tickets and the conductor- who looked just like and sounded just like the one from the movie- came by and punched a b in the children's tickets. they played music from the movie and dancing chefs served us hot chocolate & cookies. we went to the north pole -about 30 minutes down the track. there were tons of christmas lights and you could see santa waving from the porch of his house- there were elves doing flips and cartwheels- it was really neat. we were sitting in the car behind the engine so santa and his elves boarded our car first. he announced that the bells were the first gifts of christmas and knelt beside every child and gave them a bell and posed for a picture...he told them to always believe! it was awesome!!!

christmas cookies...

these are a few pictures of jake's christmas cookie experiences this year- they were a sight to see for sure!!! he and mimi made sugar cookies at our house- he cut the cookies out with the cookie cutters and sprinkled (poured) sugar all over them. afterwards- we went to nana's and he and brooke lynn decorated gingerbread cookies. i guess we had gotten all the work we could get out of him by that time- he was not into the whole decorating the cookies- but more into eating all the candies!!!

i've been crazy busy these last couple of months- which explains why i haven't posted much. these are a couple of pics from thanksgiving at my mom's & our fall hayride at church. my little man has decided that he likes to climb trees & this one at my mom's is one of his favorite.

og fair...

these are a few pics jason took at the og fair- brandi and candice brought the kids over and they had a good, muddy time! we took jake to the state fair the next week...so i think his fair expectations will be high for the og fair next year...lol! those pics are below on next post.

state fair...

we took jake to the state fair a couple of weeks ago and had the best time. we did the whole sha-bang...ag shows, petting zoo, rides, games, helicopter ride, tractor pull, circus, and rodeo. we were there for over 10 hours and jake held up- he didn't even get cranky! we will definitely be going every year from now on!
