Kindergarten Spring Concert

Lilly's kindergarten Rising Star, had its spring concert. The music teacher told them to dress up for the concert in what they wanted to be when they grew up. Lilly dressed up as a, "Pop Star/Fashion model"...surprise, surprise:) She is so adorable. The concert was a hit and we went for ice-cream after to celebrate her first concert as a pop star.

Get your spray tan on!!

Do you remember the episode of Friends when Ross goes for a spray tan...he gets confused and ends up spraying the same spot over and over. Anyway, my buddy Shari got this sassy, high tech, air brush spray tanning machine. Instead of feeling like a movie star when we were doing it, we felt a little like Ross:) Shari was using me and Amber as her test dummies (the things we do for beauty) while she learned how to do it. We laughed so hard I got a tan and a work out. The moral of the story is spray tans ROCK. They are amazing and seriously make you feel like you just got off a cruise ship, your the perfect shade of tan, you look 10 pounds lighter, and happier. I am convinced the bronzer is laced with happy gas. So go get your spray tan on. Whats better than a tan without the wrinkles.

The avalanche

It all started with an innocent trip to Marshalls in January with my friend Becca, when I saw this...I fell in Love. I convinced my Hubby I had to have it, and promised I would not need to change a thing in the room and it would match perfect.

That was of course not the case and decided I needed a new bed spread to go along with the new bench.

Then I decided I HAD to paint, so I called my dear ol buddy Jen at the Magic Brush and her favorite decorator Deb.


What do I do with my kids while I am accomplishing these projects you might ask yourself...

Then we decided that my FAVORITE faux finish that Jen does would look PERFECT in my master bathroom. I was like a dream come true. Easy enough...NOT!!

I had to strip the entire bathroom wallpaper down. (yes...I had eggplant PURPLE paint at one time, don't laugh. It used to be the "thing")

I missed taking pictures of the first THREE steps...this is us (me and Jen) stenciling on the damask print with charcoal luster stone. YUMMY.


We then glazed over the entire thing with a metallic lustestone...



Then the cabinets looked HORRIBLE...so Jen about gave me a heart attack. She said close your eyes and trust me. She distressed the crap out of the cabinets with all sorts of wild tools and then glazed over them with a stain.



Check out the difference...she is a GENIUS!

I bought plastic light weight crown molding, fauxed it, had hubby cut it to fit mirror and and attached it to the mirror with velcro. WOW

Then I made new curtains, got new towells and throw rugs.....


Sorry my camera STINKS...but the money saved for my new camera started this entire mess.

It is finally done and I LOVE, LOVE it. I am so grateful for my buddy Jen and all of her talent and help. I don't know what I would do without you...you continue to make my home a place I love. Most of all I am grateful for a husband that KNOWS when I say, "After this I am done...I promise." really means I have only just began:)

Lifes little treasures

I was feeling a LOT overwhelmed...(hubby was gone), so I asked the kids to please go get ready for bed while I cleaned up dinner. I started to realize it was way to quiet. Code for disaster is quiet at my house. I started up the steps preparing myself for what I was going to find. Much to my surprise I found all three of them and ALL of there stuffed animals "quietly" reading with each other. It touched my heart. I stood there watching them for a minute without them even knowing. I realized in that moment that it is a shame that we get so caught up in things that don't really matter. I realized real joy comes from the little things in life. I realized how stinkin cute my kids are. Most importantly, I realized that Heavenly Father sends us these "Little Treasures" just when we need them.

Science City and Fritz's

While my parents were in town for Alexis's baptism we spent the day at Crown Center. We went to lunch at Fritz's, hung out in the free Hallmark exhibit, and spent the rest of the afternoon at Science City. We had a blast.
