9 months of Zoey

Well Zoey is 9 months old now and I am still in disbelief. Seems like yesterday I was waddling around with her in my tummy. Zoey has her 2 bottom teeth that have come in at the same time. She is a very vocal baby. She loves to be loud and scream with excitment. Evey has learned to mimic her screams of joy and needless to say, I am anticipating wearing a hearing aide in later years. She says, "Mama", "Dada", "Hi", "No", "Hey". Zoey is so full of spunk. She loves to laugh. She will often start laughing just because I am. She is sleeping through the night now from 7-7:30pm bedtime until 6am wake up time. Zoey's has two favorite toys, a stuffed animal piggy that she gets so excited over. She even sleeps with piggy at night. She also has a Sesame street toy where if you hit the right button one of the characters pop up and sing for a second. She gets so excited when they pop out. Zoey loves playing peek-a-boo, being tickled, loves bath time (splashing especially), and loves to throw things. Not yet crawling, but doing "The Worm" instead, and backwards. Her latest baby trick is to scoot backwards on her tummy until she gets half her body stuck under the tv stand or bookcases. She finds it funny for a moment then starts to cry. She is such a Mama's girl. She loves playing dress up with Evey, playing people with Evey, pretty much anything with Evey. Evey has been the best big sister. We have a little swing on the patio for babies that Evey pushes her on. Evey brings me diapers, throws away the dirty ones, tell me when to nurse her, she is such a little Mom. She is so curious about the world around her and wants to be a part of everything. Her little grabby hands are proof of her eagerness to learn and explore. Zoey is such a blessing in our lives. She makes us laugh all the time, especially when she tries to attack paper and eat it. I love you my backwards worm, paper eating, grabby hands, mama's girl Zoe!

Time to play catch up... So 2010 was a great year for the White house, at least ours. We had our second baby, Zoelle. Zoey is amazing. She is now 6 months old and is loving solid foods. Not so much peas or avacados but sweet potatos and butternut squash are some of her favs. She is my skinny baby when you pick her up you can feel her ribs and she has the thin danity little arms. I never thought I would have a kid whose age fit in the appopriate size, 6 months old and wearing 6 month size. She loves when people talk to her.


She loves to watch her big sister too. Zo tends to be a Mama's girl so far. I have to admit it makes me feel good since Evey was such a Daddy's girl. She has signed Mom already. Evey still remembers a lot of signs so I am having Evey teach her too. Evey loves to feed Zo baby food. She has become a good helper and throws out the dirty diapers for me. Zo is rolling over now and will hang around on her tummy for a little bit but she doesn't seem to dig tummy time all that much. She is also falling asleep around 7 pm now and getting up at 4-5 am-ish to nurse then will fall back asleep until around 7:30am. We just now transitioned her to the crib so the girls are sleeping in the same room now. Now that we have changed the bedtime routine a little with Evey, it now has been working out pretty good.


Evey had a hard transition at first with Zo. She still never wants to hold her but every once in a while I will catch her sneaking Zo a kiss or she will hold her hand. Zo has had her first flu already. Man can she vomit. So much stuff came out of such a little body. She is definitley my puker, spit up, drool kid. Needless to say she wears a bib all the time and I don't wear dark colored shirts.



Zo loves to pose for the camera and her go to pose is putting her hand under her chin. It is super cute. Zo also loves to swing at the park, be thrown up in the air and caught, clapping, singing, and laughing. I have found a few tickle spots on her now so one of my new favorite past times is to have both my girls lay on the floor and I take turns tickling both of them. I need to record them laughing together, I can't get enough.



Evey loves to dress Zo up and have pretend tea parties with her. Zo is a good sport until there is too much crap on her and then she gets fed up.


One day there was a little miracle where it was a sleepy day for all of us and we went upstairs to my room to watch a movie. Me, Evey and Zoey were all cuddled in bed together and the girls both fell asleep. It was so precious and it only has happened the one time. So I risked and snapped the picture. I am glad I did because it is one of my favorites of them. So that's the latest on Zoey.

My Ode to Zo....

Zoey has been such a blessing in our lives already. I sometimes wonder what I did to get such another angel. She is so easy going and puts up pretty well with all her big sister's torment already. I am so excited for the day to see them play together and interact. Evey started preschool and is loving it. I love picking her up and watching her run to me, "Mooommmyyyy!" I look forward to picking her up in my arms and swinging her around. It makes my day. With Evey in school three days a week it has given me some bonding time with Zoey. Plus Evey feels so special that she goes somewhere just for her. Zoey giggled for the first time when her Daddy was making silly faces at her. But who wouldn't laugh if your Daddy is "Moobs". Seems that both of our girls are Daddy's girls. Zoey's eyes look like they are turning brown. Between Mom and Dad... I won that bet! I put my money on getting another brownie! I feel so blessed to have so many wonderful people in my life. Especially my family. Here is a special little note for my ZoZo just another Earth Angel.

Family time updates

So summer has officially begun and we are so excited. Last week Evey stayed awake for the ultrasound and got to see her baby sister swimming around. Zoey is now 3 pounds and has a full head of hair. Evey kept saying, "Wow!" She tells me she is excited to meet her and wants to play with her. This week we have our hospital tour of the new maternity ward in our hospital. The clock is ticking and we have about 2 months left before Zoey comes home.

Life has been very busy in the White House lately. Grandma Cindy has come to stay for a bit as she transitions into her new home. It's been nice to sleep in and be able to go out when Evey is sleeping because Mom is here. We really appreciate that Grandma!

Uncle Steve and his family are moving to Utah this week and we are going to miss them so much. Evey loves her cousins and she will miss playing in the backyard with them. I can't talk about it even in writing because it makes me misty-eyed.

Eli and Suzzy are now officially a part of the family tree and we got to see them get sealed to the family on Saturday at the Temple. I was so happy to be there for that and be a part of that special moment.

Daddy will be on the TV show Wipeout on July 27th so we are excited to see him and are planning a party for it. Mike hasn't even seen it yet so he is really curious to see how the episode turned out.

Evey is 2 and half now and is Mommy's little helper. She speaks in complete sentences and I enjoy our conversations so much. She stands on a chair and loves to help wash dishes. She is constantly singing the songs from the movie "Enchanted" (her favorite). Did I mention our world revolves around princesses. She even will introduce herself to people as "princess". She loves spending time with family and friends. She tells me how much she loves summer because she loves water. Anything with water Evey is there. She plays with a hose, kiddie pool, big pool, bowl of water, bath time, the ocean, water table, dirty dish water, and I have seen those sneaky eyes even look at the toilet water with way to much curiousness. She is about 90 percent of the way there when it comes to potty training. She decided all on her own that she was a big girl and babies were diapers. She wears pull ups or panties... that equals grown up in her mind. I love my Princess Evelyn and I'm looking forward to a fun summer with lots of water play.
