Christmas was spent at home in 2009. Our tradition is to spend this special Holiday with our kids.

Holy Cow!!! It's 2010!!!

I guess we've slacked off on the blog posts with the inception of our facebook accounts. Lets see if anyone still reads this.

Ryan turned 12 years old in October and "FINALLY" got a cell phone. (I don't know what we were thinking.) Ryans was the last birthday cake that will be "just okay" (Refer) to "CAKE

PICS" later.

Ryan received the Aaronic Priesthood and was baptised for Grandpa Bob at the Fresno and Mom and Dad were sealed. Julie and I were sealed to our parents. It was an incredible day for all in attendance. The Temple Presidencey said "we have'nt felt the Spirit in such great abundance since we've been serving".

I turned 43 in October...STOP LAUGHING!!!!

I feel 42 still so I guess that's a good thing.

Thanksgiving was at our house, a smaller crowd due to some family (Chad and Jackie) traveling for the Holiday.

SAN DIEGO

Sea Port Village

This summers vacation was a week in San Diego, CA. We stayed at the Mission Bay RV Resort which has a view of Sea World across the Bay. So that meant a free firework show every night. We purchased a "Go San Diego Card" which granted admission to many of the San Diego attraction, including; LegoLand, LegoLand Sea Life, USS Midway, Harbor Cruie, Museums, and many more. We saved over $300 using the Go Card!!! Enjoy the pictures and videos from the trip. No it's time for school, soccer and the Holidays. Anybody have cool ideas for next year?

BACKYARD RENOVATION

We decide to finally get rid of the river rock which was used as a quick fix when we added the pool and needed something under our trampoline. So the backyard has been a work in progress since 2005. I didn't realize how ugly the river rock was. If it's green now, it was 1 inch river rock before. Very difficult to scoop dog poop.We will be adding some more shrubs later. The palm trees were planted shortly after the pool went in. The kids all helped and the dog (Belle) is certainly happier.

BASA SOFTBALL TEXAS LONGHORNS

So, as you all recall the girls gave up dancing for a career in Softball. Jolene was the coach of the under 8 girls Texas Longhorns. Taylor, Carrie, and Isabel were on the team together. We had a great season especially the last game where the girls made two double plays and had some great hits.







Jolene, I mean, Coach, giving the starting lineup. Taylor...pitching...Carrie...second base...Isabel...Gardening and short stop. We held our practice's at Bimat Elementary.













Taylor loved playing catcher when she wasn't pitching. Carrie pitched the last game and actually did a great job.








And so, the season came to an end, our party was held at Mountain Mike's Pizza. Erick Berg was the team sponsor.

SEPARATE VACATIONS?

So with Jaime working now , it seems we have to, at times, take separate vacations.

Grandma Bey, Grandma and Grandpa Burdick and all the kids. We had a great time.
It was a long day but what agreat memory for all of us.

BON VOYAGE'

So we went on this last minute cruise with the entire Burdick Clan. Yes, even Jim and Joyce came. Stan Crippen was a guest speaker on the ship and was fabulous. The cruise departed from Long Beach, journeyed to Catalina Island, and was marooned in Ensenada. Okay, not marooned but it seemed like we were stuck there. Four days after departing Long Beach, we returned to the real world. Thank you Diana and Paul Anderson for taking care of our kids you are awesome friends.

Camp K.E.E.P

The Campus

Ryans 6th grade class went to camp K.E.E.P (Kern Environmental Education Program) the second week of March in Morro Bay. They study ecosystems and the human impact on the Earth. Very cool. I went as a counselor and had nine 11 year old boys in my charge. Yikes !!! We had a great time. Beautiful scenic views, incredible hikes, and great company. Our group hiked to the top of Valenia Minor Peak

So it was like 45 degrees in the morning and warmed up to 70 in the mid afternoon, then dropped to around 40 at night so we always had to dress in layers and shed our layers as the day progressed. So we started with an empty backpack and filled it with clothes by noon. Then emptied it and donned it all again by 7 pm. We initially froze at bedtime, but thankfully We had extremely warm sleeping bags.

AUTO CLUB 500

Ryan and I went to the Auto Club 500 NASCAR race in Fontana on February 22nd. We left the house at 8:00 am and got home at 10:30 pm. Although we kept getting the threat of rain the day was Awesome!!! Kevin Harvick is our Driver, but he blew his engine in lap 208 of 250. Matt Kenseth went on to win the race. Ryan slept all most the entire trip home which was a good thing since he had school the next morning. This was the first time Ryan or I have ever been to a NASCAR race and it certainly will not be the last.
