Oh, Christmas Tree!

Addie and Kolby were part of the Live Nativity and our Stake Creche festival again this year.

Kolby has to wear his watch to this event so he knows exactly how long he has to stand there.

I don't know why this is sideways.  The boys were awfully brave doubled up and standing on their ride down the hill.

December 24, 2008

We'll just call this the December Post Part I.  I have been trying all month to get on and post.  It just has not happened.  Part I because I can not seem to add any more pictures.  The kids are loving the snow.  They can't get enough!  Landry was a little confused the first day it snowed.  We got out of the van and he walked to the edge of the garage.  He pointed and asked me what was on the ground.  Landry has been a big fan of the fluffy white stuff ever since his first encounter.  He loves to put on his snow boots and go outside.  This often happens with no coat, permission or supervision.  The kids have been very lucky to spend a lot of time sledding.

Landry will now only take a nap in his high chair or his car seat.  He has caught on to my trick of luring him into his highchair, for a snack in the late afternoon, so that he will fall asleep.  Landry will kick and scream and fight me until I get his tray latched and he is locked in.

We enjoyed the annual Children's Parade.  It could actually be called the Artic Cat Parade.  Every float in our town in pulled by one of these.

The kids had fun seeing a lot of their favorite characters.

This parade is all about the kids and quite interactive.  Our children were feeling the Christmas spirit this day and had to sport the holiday hats.

A new favorite holiday game.  Landry plays Santa and the kids sit on his lap and tell him what they want for Christmas.  Landry plays the Santa roll well.

December 2, 2008

We had a nice Thanksgiving. Tyler's Dad, Mom and Grandma came to celebrate with us.
Tyler's Mom brought a new supply of Aggie attire. I was against the kids wearing it for Thanksgiving dinner (I wanted them to dress up a bit) but I was overruled. It is disturbing that my children insist on eating turkey legs. You would think years of meatless meals would have an affect on them - apparently not.

It's about time! I think this might be the longest I have ever gone without posting. We made a short trip to Logan. We enjoyed all of the gorgeous fall colors around us. The last week in October Tyler's Grandma Jorgensen passed away. It was a beautiful funeral. Addie just looked at this picture and said, "I miss her".
The kids were able to spend Halloween with some of their cousins. They had a great time trick or treating and going to a school carnival.
We had a fun time staying with Dustin and Nichole. Landry was in heaven with an endless supply of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse episodes to watch.

Later, your Dad wakes up from his nap and makes you take off your cute princess outfit.

Landry keeps falling asleep in random places and positions at odd times.
One time we found him on the stairs.

It may have something to do with the recent change in his morning wake up time. Our new alarm clock is a little annoying. We train our children to sleep late. He has obliged until now.
We have had some great sunsets lately.

We kicked off the holiday season with a mini concert from Kolby's school choir. They performed at the grocery store - in the produce section. It was part of a holiday open house put on by the grocery store. FYI... concerts in the produce section are very nice. Who knew it would make such a nice venue.

How many kids can you fit it one shopping cart? Four was quite comfortable with plenty of room for dancing to the choir music.

Part of the reason it took me so long to post was my camera disappeared for a while. When I found it I figured out what had happened to it. My future photographer had got a hold of it... again!

October 26, 2008

The kids getting ready to go to the school Halloween carnival.  Kolby was planning on an Indiana Jones costume for Halloween.  We ordered it and when it arrived we discovered it was very lame.  Since we needed a costume asap and there are no shopping options in town we fell back on last years costume.  Luckily, he agreed to the last minute change in plans.  I feared we had a crisis at hand.

Last weekend we went to St. George with our visitors.

The weather was perfect!

Grandpa and Grandma came for a visit.

They brought Grammy with them.

We went and saw the Petrogliphs.

Landry likes to be like his big brother.  Kolby was walking in front of him and had his hands in his pockets.  It was fun to watch Landry notice Kolby and mimic him.

This was a fun sight to wake up to a couple of days ago. I braved the ice cold weather to go out on the deck and get a picture.
I often pick up the camera to find that Addie has been taking pictures. Here are a couple of her latest shots.
She did a good job taking some nice Halloween pictures.

I can't wait to find out what grade Tyler will get on his diorama about the long tailed weasel.
He worked so hard on the project. I did provide some inspiration for the project so I deserve a little credit for the design.
Our first canning project! I decided that Tyler and I were smart enough to figure out how to can and told him we were going to bottle salsa. It came to me that a lot of people can so it could not be that hard to figure out how to do it. We do have the internet. Plus, my husband is a Food Scientist and the Quality Control Manager at a bottling plant. Shouldn't we have an edge? Despite a few set backs we were successful. Who knew you could not can on a flat top stove? Luckily, Tyler thought of that before we started the project. The Camp Chef came through for us. I think it might be better than a stove because the heat and steam are outside. Tyler had a little panic and insisted on testing the salsas PH to insure we would not get botulism. Now I can enjoy my favorite food all year!
