A Sweet 'n Sassy Saturday

Hello friends!!  FIRST OFF....I have to clarify that I am not leaving the blogging and card making world, I'm just leaving my DT's at this time, due to the fact that I'm just not going to have the time to commit to them.  I'll still make time to play but it will be on my time.  Thank you all for the well wishes but you can still come and visit me!!  :)

As some of you know I have been guest designing for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps this month and I have to say that I am having lots of fun with it.  Today I have a card for you that I created after receiving my Split Coast Stampers Weekly Inkling.  OMGosh, I was so inspired that I had to give it a try and the stamp set "Spring Tulips" was perfect for it!!!  Here's my card...

Okay, now for some details about my card.  First off I stamped my image on Kraft cardstock with Distress ink and then added clear embossing powder over the top and heat embossed it.  Then I used the "Bleached Out" technique by Beate Johns at SCS to bleach out my image.  It turned this really pretty pale yellow color.  After the bleach was dry I used my Copics to add a little dimension to the tulips and petals.  After I finished coloring I used my Spellbinder Grand Calibur to cut my image out and then ran it through my Cuttlebug in an embossing folder.  I then used my Distrezz-it-all to distress the edges.  I was trying to do the "Faux Fabric" technique (tutorial by Karen Barber at SCS) but I didn't have the right embossing folder so this is what I used.  I think it still looks really pretty!!  :)  After I had it mounted on my scalloped oval I used my Smooch Spritz over the image.  I sure wish you could see it in the picture because it really is pretty!!!  I then stamped and heat embossed my sentiment from the same "Spring Tulips" stamp set.  I have used this really gorgeous paper from MME called Stella and Rose and OMGosh...I LOVE THAT DP!!!

As I Say Goodbye

Hello all my dear sweet friends.  With much sadness I announce that this will be my last challenge with Phindy's Place.  Since my hubby retired in January a lot of things have started happening in our lives.  We are getting ready to build a new shop and a chicken coop (I have 55 little babies that are going to need a home in about 4 weeks), time to move the worm business to the next level and my step son and DIL have asked me to continue homeschooling my granddaughter through the summer.  I just have too much on my plate and I don't feel that I am able to devote the time needed for DT work at this time.  I have been with Phindy from the very beginning and it breaks my heart to have to let go but being the anal person that I am...I can't do anything half assed!!!  With that being said, I present you with my final farewell card and hope that all of the friends that I have made through Phindy's Place along the way will continue to come visit me.  I'm sure I'll have a card or two for you along the way.  My cards seem to be getting more and more simple.  :)  Must be the time restraint!!  Your challenge for this week is to use the colors Purple and Teal.  Here's my card using one of the Wee Babbie images called "Fresh Buns" and I just couldn't help the play on words!!  :)

LOL....isn't she just the cutest thing ever!?!  OMGosh, as soon as I saw her I fell in love and had to have her.  She fit perfectly with the way I was feeling!!  I really wish you could see this card in real life.  That little purple thing on my flower is actually a little clothes pin and all of my bubbles have been stickled!!

A Sweet 'n Sassy Birthday

Happy Saturday!!  :)  Whew...just about forgot about my post today.  We have been busy getting ready for 30 new baby chicks that are supposed to be here on Monday.  This will be my very first time raising chicks so I am pretty excited about the whole thing!!  Beds are all warm and ready for their arrival.  :)

Anyway, today I have a card for you using the new Sweet 'n Sassy digi images called "Circus Fun" and these are some seriously cute images!!!  You can also get them in stamp format for all you diehard stampers out there!!  :)  Here's the card I have for you today....

I ended up cutting my tent apart because I couldn't get it to look the way I wanted it to but I think it turned out pretty cute this way.  Aren't these images just too fun!?!

An Easter/Spring Challenge at Phindy's Place

Hello friends!!  It is time for a new challenge at Phindy's Place and this week we are challenging you to use and Easter or Spring theme for your project.  I am so ready for spring especially since we received about an inch of snow today with another 2 to 4 inches expected tonight.  Ugh!!!  For my card I have decided to go with an Easter theme.  I have used this darling little image called "Eggstatic".  This little cutie looks like the little chicks that I am expecting to show up on Monday.  We're going to have 30 of the little cuties!!  Here's my card for this challenge...

 Isn't this image just adorable!!  I really had a lot of fun playing with this one!!  I am also using this card for The Outlawz Copic/Promarker challenge with I have issued the challenge of "Combining Mediums".  For this card I have combined my Copics with Prismacolor pencils and also use some Sakura glaze and stardust pens.  I really with you could see this image in real life.  It has so much more character than this picture shows!!!  :)

Sweet 'n Sassy Guest Designer

WOW...I can't believe that it is already April 3rd and I have failed to let you all know that I am so excited about being asked to be a Guest Designer for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps for the month of April.  It is such an honor to work with this very talented group of ladies and to work with such an AWESOME company as Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps!!  I hope you will stop by and check out some of the beautiful stamps that Sweet 'n Sassy has to offer.  I LOVE THEM!!!!

For my very first assignment I have created a card with the new release stamp set called "Praise The Lord" and I totally fell in love with this stamp set.  I love all of the images that include scripture and inspiring words with them.  They just warm my heart!!!  Here's my very first card.....

I have to admit that I had to pull out my bird book so that I could try and get the color pattern right on my bird.  I really love bluebird although all we have around here are the Mountain Bluebirds so they have no rust color in them but beautiful nonetheless!!!  I have colored my image with Copic and Prismacolor pencils and I have to say, I love how it turned out!!!  It took me a long time playing with my pencils to achieve the wispy blend of the colors.  But alas, I prevailed.  LOL!!

I want to thank Korin and the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Design Team for giving me the opportunity to work with these beautiful stamps and hope that I have inspired you all just a little.

An April Fools Challenge

Hello friends!!  This week at The Outlawz Copic/Promarker challenge I have issued the challenge to color an embellie with your markers.  Here's the card I have created using the adorable Magnolia stamp called Tilda With Many Hearts.  Here's my card....

I'm not overly thrilled with my coloring on this one.  I wasted a whole sheet of paper trying to stamp an image yesterday.  OMGosh, I sure hope it's just spring fever and I'm not losing my mojo altogether!!  Eeek!

I discovered a new technique for me and although I've never seen it used before doesn't mean it's not out there already.  Anyway, I wanted a flower that went from dark around the outside to the cream in the middle like you see on flowers.  Well, I just made an outline with my marker around the outside of my flower and went OMGosh, that looks horrible so I took my colorless blender and started working it out a little and woohoo...I was able to get the look that I wanted, totally by accident!  :)

Have a Little Humor

Hello friends!!  It's time for a new challenge at Phindy's Place and this week we are challenging you to use some humor.  Okay seriously, this was very very difficult for me as I have been missing my mojo and I'm sorry but there is nothing humorous about it!!  :P  WOW....what to do!?!  Well, this is what I came up with using this adorable image called "Bug Buddy"...

With all that curly hair, I just had to make it red and give him a few freckles!!  :)  Okay, I know my humor is really corny but none of us could think of anything that would be funny.  I tried to give him dirty knees but it ended up just looking funny.  Hahaha....there's my humor!!!  LOL...I think my humor card turned into an April Fools joke!!

Seeing Spots at 7 Kids College Fund

Hi everyone!!  Wow...it's been awhile since I last posted.  I took a vacation from my hobby completely this last week.  :)  I just had to go visit my family and have my baby sis do my hair.  Ahhhh.....I feel like a new person but not sure where my mojo disappeared too.  Ugh!

Anyway, our challenge this week at 7KCF is "Seeing Spots".  Hmmmm....bet you can't guess what that one is all about!?!  LOL!  Yep, we want to see your dots and polka dots.  Here's my take on this challenge and be gentle, my mojo is missing remember!?!  For this challenge I have used a Magnolia stamp called "Secretive Tilda" from the Bon Voyage line.  Here's my card...

A Transparent Challenge

Oh Baby

Hi everyone!!  WooHoo....it's Friday and time for a new challenge at Phindy's Place.  This week our challenge is "Oh Baby" and you must use a baby or small child image or make your card for one.  For my card I have used the image "Counting Sheep".  Here's my card for this challenge...

I wanted to make my card for a little boy but you are not going to believe this.  Out of the 4 floor racks of paper that I have, I have no baby paper!!!  Trust me...I went through every single rack looking for something that would match my image and this is the closest thing I could find for a little boy.  I wish you could see my little lamb because I actually used a terry cloth washcloth and my colorless blender to make it look like wool.  It does look pretty cute IRL!!

Mardi Gras Color Challenge

Getting A Little Sketchy

Trying To Master CAS

Hello friends!!  I had fun yesterday playing with some of my new Stampin' Up stamp sets.  I love the look of CAS so much but think that my cards always look yucky!  I don't understand how something so simple could be so hard!  LOL.  Anyway, I decided that I was going to try and master this CAS thing so I made a couple of cards yesterday.  The first one was pretty but it just didn't work for me so I made another one based on the inspiration picture for the CAS challenge at The Outlawz.  Now that one, I really like how it turned out!!!  Okay, here's my first card using the SU Blessed Mother clear mount stamp set (these come in the coolest little DVD cases).....

I tried to do the crinkly ribbon but mine looked stupid!  :)  I used my Copics to give it a little color pizazz.  Still didn't work on the feeling bland to me.  What do you think?

Here's my card using the inspiration picture from the CAS challenge at The Outlawz.  I have used the SU clear mount sets Awash with Flowers and Word Play.  First I'll show you the picture and then I'll show you my card!

So...can you tell what I used as my inspiration? The colors and flowers of course but also the shape of the boot. :)  I was so proud of myself.  heehee

It's A Copic/Promarker Hoedown

Hello friends!!  As some of you know this week has been a big party week at The Outlawz.  We have had lots of fun western challenges and a couple of not so western themes for you to play along with this week and today I posted the Copic/Promarker challenge.  I have challenged you to use the definition of "Hoedown" as your inspiration for a western themed card.  For my card I have used this cute little image from Victoria Case for SCACD.  Here's my card...

Hello friends!!  It's time for a new challenge this week at Phindy's Place and this week we want to see some monochromatic from you.  This has always been a real weakness for me and I don't know why!!  I guess my brain just doesn't work in mono...I'm a color girl all the way!  :)  Here's my card this week using the image "Cupid Cutie"...

I just love how this turned out and think that it almost has a little vintage feel to it!!

Monday Morning Blues

Oop...I Did It Again

Hi everyone!!  So, does my title have you wondering just what it is I did again!?!  LOL!!  I created another CAS card.  You know...it may be CAS but for some reason I really struggle with it.  I think that it's the simplicity that I can't quite wrap my head around!!!  :)  Oh well.  Here's the card that I created for the Sunday CAS Challenge at The Outlawz...

For this card I have used a really old stamp from Unity and really old DP from Fiskars.  LOL...I guess I was on a really old kick!!

Lets Get Embossy

Hi everyone!!  Yep, it's time for a new challenge at Phindy's Place and this week we challenge you to "Emboss" (heat or dry).  I chose to dry emboss because I just got these new embossing folders by Basic Grey.  Wow, they are really awesome!!  For my card this week I have used this adorable image called "I Glub You"....

 I love this image and its one that can be used for so many different occasions.  It also gave me a chance to practice on one of my favorite techniques....coloring transparent objects.  I just love to add depth and movement to water.  It actually looks better in person than it does in the picture.  Hey, even my hubby was impressed!!!  LOL!  Maybe he was just being nice. :)

A Challenge of {heart}

A New Sketch at Phindy's Place

Simply Adorable

What a perfect name for these FABULOUS new stamps and digi's from Sugar Nellie.  I was so thrilled when they finally went on sale and  to see that they were in the digi format too!!  I so hate waiting for stamps to arrive in the mail and especially when they're coming from Sweden!!!  Of course I just had to have them all.  OMGosh...they are so beautiful!!!!  You can get them with just the head or the full body.  I bought all of the full body ones but I think I need to have all of the head ones now too!!

This week at the Copic/Promarker (yep, we've put you Promarker girls in with us Copic girls) Challenge at The Outlawz I issued the challenge of "Let's Get Romantic" and this was my take on romantic.  My idea of romantic is soft colors and lots of flowers.  Here's the card I created using the full body image of "Joy"...
