Each night of the tour us fans (non-fans) can vote on 3 of 5 albums that we want to hear in its entirety. In San Fran we voted between Middle of Nowhere, The Walk and Shout It Out. Shout It Out won! 
I was a little disappointed because I would have loved to hear The Walk. I love that album (love all the albums actually) but Shout It Out came out last year and we basically heard the songs on the tour last year. It was a fantastic show anyway. I was able to hear 
"Use Me Up" which Zac has lead vocals on. I didn't hear it last year. So it was great to hear it. It was just him at the piano (melt) He was sick, you could tell he had a cold. He sang it beautifully though. Look up videos on YouTube. Its great!! They did just one cover song...Elvis Presley "Love Me". 
It was just Taylor at the piano. Love that song!! Glad they did at least one cover song. Last year they did a couple of cover songs. They were fantastic!! 
They played all the songs from Shout It Out and also songs from the other albums, many of which are my favorites. 
The show ended, always seems too early. For those few hours you just forget about everything that is going on in your life. I waited by their bus. Got a few pictures of them. Didn't want to get a picture with them because let me tell you I looked disgusting!! trust me! I don't want to have pictures of how I looked. I kind of regret it, but I will tell you why later in this post. I saw all three of them get on the bus. Zac said he was sick so he would come out and take pictures..didn't want to get everyone sick. Aww Zac you are so thoughtful. Isaac came out first and took pictures. Then Taylor came out. They made everyone form a line to take a picture with him. It was funny..It was like we were back in elementary school -single file line. When I got back to my hotel room and looked in the mirror HOLY COW!!! I was glad I did not take pictures. Now its the next morning...This is where my story get interesting... I wake up really early, only had about 4-5 hours of sleep. I needed to get back home and then back down to school by the afternoon. So I get up, get my things packed and get down to my car. As I am leaving, my brake light on my car comes on. I think to myself oh I must have my emergency brake on still. I just left the hotel parking garage, pulled over, turned to car off, checked everything, turned car back on, light still on AND I was pushing my brake all the way to the floor!!! SO here I am, all by myself at 5am in a city that I do not know. I am freaking out just a little bit. AAAHHHH!!! so what does a young 20 something do...call her parents of course. its only 5am.... they answer, we'll figure it out. Mom and Talynn came up to get me and we tow my car out of the city. Yep my brakes on my car were gone. Brake line corroded from acid leaking from my battery. I won't go into the whole story, BUT my car is all better now :) Let's just say I won't be going back to San Francisco anytime soon. hahaNow its onto Disneyland. On September 10, 2011 (9-10-11 fun date) I went down to Anaheim House of Blues in Downtown Disney. It was fun to go back. This was where I saw Hanson for the first time last year.
This venue will always have a special place in my heart. For this show us fans could vote between Middle of Nowhere, This Time Around, and Underneath. I wanted Underneath to win. Underneath is, I would say, my favorite album. I love every song on this record. Its the album that I fell in love with Hanson again. Well, This Time Around won. I was not completely bummed because they are songs that I love on the record. I just don't love them all. :)
So I was looking forward to hear ALL the songs from the album. 
As the show went on, in my head I was going through the album and I realized that they haven't played all the songs. So I tole myself "Oh they will play them in the encore" so when encore comes and they sing "A Song to Sing"
(LOVE this song) I said "cool," now they are going to play "Wish I Was There" Zac sings lead on this song. 
Then all of a sudden (not really) but they were now taking a bow and saying goodnight, goodbye. I was flabbergasted, well just pretty much BUMMED!!! It is the ONLY song on this album that Zac sings lead.. I love this song. I was saddened. I wanted to hear this song. They either didn't play it because they ran out of time (HOB has a curfew or they came on stage late) or Zac was still not feeling so they didn't sing it. It was an amazing show!!! (other than the girls being weird & mean that were by me) I did not let that ruin my show. I was a little further back then I wanted...Oh my goodness I didn't tell you about my adventure getting there. I drove down from home to my place at school, changed and headed down to Anaheim. I was running a little late but I knew I would get there before the show started and get in the 'pass the line' line so I could get in the show before the general admission. I was on the road and in a good mood that I was seeing Hanson again! Then all of a sudden (really) I realized that I forgot my TICKET!!! I was about 1/3 of the way there. I thought to myself do I just keep going and by a ticket there or turn around and get my ticket. I said to myself turn around you don't want to have to pay for another ticket. So I turn around and get back on the road. When I finally get to Disneyland I have no gas so I get some (knowing I would get out of the show late and don't want to get some that late a night) I then find the parking. Now I have been to Disneyland many times and more frequently as I am older and parking my own car. So I decide not to park in the parking garage but in the Downtown Disney parking. Okay so I park and book it to HOB. I get there and quickly buy a shirt in the store so I could get in the 'pass the line' line. I had a quick thought to myself "oh its almost time for the doors to open, I will just get in the general line..."Then quickly said to myself "you will be at the back of the general line, that's worse then being at the back on the 'pass the line' line. I am the last one in the 'pass the line' I was so glad that I bought the shirt and got in when I did. I was on the floor and in the middle of course! Great show!!!!And now onto San Diego. September 12, 2011. This day was better. I remembered by ticket! (haha) It was a lovely drive down to San Diego House of Blues. I even heard MMMBop on the radio!! I get there, check into my hotel, which is next door to House of Blues. I would stay in this hotel again!! It was amazing!! I am actually early to a show. Really early. There are many girls already there (some sleep on the street overnight...they were 1st row) I got something to eat and got in line for The Story.
I was #35 in line!!! While waiting outside, Zac walked by and went down the street. He came back by after purchasing a tripod. Random. We all went into the venue for 'The Story'. I was 2nd row! 2nd ROW!!! Right behind the girls that slept there over night (what does that tell you) I couldn't believe it!! I wish my sis Talynn came with me. At this show Hanson was having fan club members come into the venue early and they would talk about an album and take questions.
'The Story' was awesome, by the way. It was crazy that I standing that close to them. It was weird. In a good way. AND I made eye contact with Zac several times. haha They are doing this throughout the tour - discussing all 5 albums in different cities. 
For 'The Story' in San Diego they were talking about Middle of Nowhere. Their first album. (well their first record label album, they have indie albums) I was so excited about this!!! I was going to hear ALL of the songs from this album.
I love all of these songs. 
Of course I have favorites and I am looking forward to hearing them live. I was looking forward to hearing "Lucy" and "With You in Your Dreams" and what do you guess...They didn't play them!!! Again I was BUMMED!! I could understand "Lucy" because Zac has been sick, even though during The Story he sounded ans acted normal. I have heard since the show that "With You in Your Dreams" was on the setlist for the final encore song, but they ran out of time. Yep HOB San Diego has a curfew and we had to be out of there by 10:30pm. I couldn't believe that there is a curfew. Anyway...Hanson if you ever read this blog 
(I don't know why you ever would) but if you do...Get on stage earlier OR don't play the other songs from other albums if you are suppose to play ALL of the songs from Middle of Nowhere. I was bummed!! (still kind of now) I see videos from shows after mine and they have played these songs. I am sad. Some day, Some day!!
So now the show is over and I got wait outside with other fans, to catch a closer glimpse and hopefully a picture with them. I didn't wait by the bus in Anaheim because I have no idea where it is parked. So this was my last chance to get a picture with them, since this was the last show I would see them on this tour. And I waited, and I waited (like the song reference haha) and what do you think happened....I GET A MIGRAINE HEADACHE!!! I couldn't believe what was just happening. I have not had a migraine in a couple of years. I know how my migraines work, so I went back to my hotel and took Excedrin migraine and laid down. All I could think of was "I'm missing out on my pictures with the guys" I couldn't believe it. My last chance this tour and I get a migraine. So after a 1/2 hour or so...I was feeling better so I went back down stairs to see if the bus was still there. It was..but my migraine was coming back...
So I quickly took a picture of Isaac. He was the only one out there talking to the girls. He was quoting the line from the Blues Brothers. (Hanson fans know which one I am talking about) Some day, Hanson, Some day I will get pictures with all of you!!! So like I said earlier in this post, I kind of regret not taking pictures with Isaac & Taylor in San Fran. Oh well.... I went back up to my hotel room and showered. It was the best shower that I have ever had. They had the "rain" shower head. Some day I will get one of those. I enjoyed every single moment at all 3 shows I went to!!! For those few hours I was able to get lost in the music and forget about "real life" The opening act for the first month of The Musical Ride Tour is Meiko. I listened to some of her music before my first show. I like her music. By the third show, I loved her music. I love seeing artists live. I got a picture with her in Anaheim HOB. 
She also signed her 2 CDs for me. It was funny when she was signing the CDs she asked my name and so I spelled it for her because no one ever spells it right. She signed one right and then when she was signing the other one she spelled it wrong and so she signed a new one for me. She is so sweet. I was slowly telling her letter by letter how to spell my name. It was funny!! Thanks Meiko. Anyway... that basically wraps up my adventure seeing Hanson! I hope you have enjoyed reading this long post!! haha sorry for some blurry pictures. They were all taken on my iPhone. I kind of like the blurry pictures...they are abstract. :) Sorry for the long post, but I had to explain everything (well not everything) you know....
