Heart Surgery #2

I have had a lot of thoughts and feelings about our experience with Aili's second heart surgery and I thought I should probably write them down. I haven't blogged in over a year. I feel bad because it has been awesome now with Estee in our lives. But I seem to not write when things are just going smooth and happy so I guess that is a good thing?

Moving Before Surgery
In December 2014 Aili had a lung scan and echo that were showing that she needed surgery soon. The last time she had had anything done to her heart was in May 2013 (a cath, with balooning, in California). Her cardiologist thought she would need surgery late March, early April. So that is what we planned on. They send all of Aili's information over to Dr. Hanley to be scheduled for surgery. Aili ended up being scheduled for May 6th which was a little concerning because that was further out than we anticipated. We know Dr. Hanley is in serious demand though so you take what you can get.

We had been thinking about possibly moving at this same time. Selling our condo and buying a house. But with surgery coming up so soon we didn't think it was possible. But then when the surgery ended up being in May be decided to just hurry and do it. And hope we could be into a new place before surgery. If not we would just live with my parents during that time.  We put our condo up for sale the very beginning of February. We had a lot of showings and it as under contract within 2 weeks. We were really excited. As soon as it was under contract we started our house hunt. My ideal house was located along the Murdock canal trail anywhere from Lindon to Cedar Hills. As we started looking there really wasn't anything we liked or that was in our price range through that area. Chris and our real estate agent kept telling me that I should widen my search into Lehi. So we looked in Lehi, and there was some nice houses, but none of them made me excited. I didn't want to live there, I knew it, and I knew I would like it.

I checked Utahrealestate.com constantly. Our agent sent us new listings every morning. We were looking at houses multiple times during the week. I also started checking KSL to see any houses for sale by owner. We started getting worried that there was no hope of finding and moving into a house before Aili's surgery. Which wasn't ideal, but would just have to be.

One night I found a couple of houses on KSL that were in my ideal location. One of them was in Lindon right above the Murdock trail and one was in PG right above the Murdock trail. The one in PG I was so excited for. From the pictures it looked really promising. I was so afraid I would go and hate it, because it was in such a perfect location. Our agent set up times on Saturday to see these two properties along with a few others in various locations. We saw the one in Lindon first. SO disappointing. Actually it was disgusting. It wasn't the perfect house anyway, but it was so filthy I didn't even look at all of the house. I was done looking after just seeing the first floor. Our next stop was the PG house. Literally the most perfect location....my ideal location. I was so nervous I would hate it because I wanted to love it so much. Another family was just leaving from looking at it as we arrived. We went into the backyard first. It had a cute patio, massive cement pad with basketball hoop, a little play house with swings, and a slide. Liking it so far. Then we walked through the main floor, the basement, and then the upstairs. Upstairs in the yellow room I told Chris and our agent, "I want this house, this is our house." Over and over I said, "I want this house." We came downstairs, and talked to the owner a little. She talked about how they love the location and their family has loved the house. She didn't need to convince me. It was the perfect location! I wanted this house. It wasn't the biggest, newest, our fanciest house we had seen, but it was our house. It was perfect for us, for what we needed right now. We went to see one more house in American Fork after. Basically it was just a meet up point to discuss putting on offer on the PG house. We scrapped the rest of the houses planned for the day, because we just wanted the PG house. I looked at our agent as we were getting in our cars and I said, "Brain DO NOT let someone steal this house from us." That is how much I wanted the house.

Our agent was awesome. He went straight back to the office pulled some comparables to look at, and we wrote up the offer. The owners of the house were going out of down later that afternoon. So he drove over to the house ASAP to present the offer to them. That night our agent had given us some box tickets to a Jazz game. It was intense waiting to hear if  they would accept our offer. As soon as we got there our agent said, "I have some good news, they came back with a counter offer." We discussed it and sent another counter offer back. After the game we were on and off the phone with our agent, and he was on and off the phone with the sellers, trying to nail down this deal. Right up until midnight it was going back and forth, but a contract was signed! We were so excited and relieved! Our agent really took my, "DO NOT let someone steal this house from us," seriously, and I'm so glad he did. The one thing we had working for us is that the family who owned the house was building a new house right in the same ward and neighborhood so they wanted some nice people to move into their old house. I think that they liked us and thought we were a good family to take over the house they had built memories in. I honestly don't think the deal would have been made that night if they hadn't meet us and liked us. Hopefully they are still happy they let us buy their house. :)

After an extension to the contract on the sale of our new house and just a day before the buyer on our condo would lose their earnest money, she backed out of buying our condo. It had been under contract for a whole month! Not because she didn't want it, but because she was unwise and messed up her credit after signing the contract. Really stupid move, she was upset and we were upset. I had already packed half of our house and it was in storage. We were ready to move our tand live with my parents until we could move into our new house. Now we had to relist the condo and hope that we could still by the house even if our condo wasn't sold. It was super stressful.

After looking everything over we could own both properites just fine, so we moved forward with everything, still hoping we could get the condo sold quickly so we didn't have two mortgages.

The close date on the new house was April 22nd just 8 days before we were suppose to fly to California for Aili's surgery. That was a little stressful but we were glad that we could at least be moved in and have a house before we had to leave.

Surgery is Moved Back
Among all the selling, buying, moving drama, we get a call that the surgery has to be moved back 2 days. Not a big deal. It actually worked out better for us because then we would have two weekends we could move and get settled.

I can't remember when we got the news of all this, it just seemed like it was one jumbled mess one thing after another. But our condo was put under contract a second time, and then the buyer backed out just a day later.

Then we get another call from Dr. Hanley's scheduler that the surgery has to be moved back again, not to 2 days, not a week or even two. But almost 11 weeks! 2 and a half monthes! I guess they had a bunch of emergency surgeries that needed to be done and Dr. Hanley felt that Aili was doing well enough to be pushed back. Even though we fully understood that, it was still difficult. We were already nervous that the surgery was in May and not March and now it was going to be in July.

We had Aili do another lung scan and echo just to make sure that she would indeed be okay waiting until July. The doctor felt like everything would be fine. So even though I cried and was so frustrated because it just seemed like nothing was working out it really ended up probably being better so that we had plenty of time to move and be settled before surgery.

New House and Condo Close
Our condo was then under contract for a 3rd time. By this time we can't even be excited for it because they can back out at pretty much anytime, without any consequences, and that just seems so ridiculous to me. What the heck is the point of the contract?! The sale of the condo was scheduled to close a few weeks after the close of the house. Just days before the close on our new house the underwriter on the loan got back to us and told us that we needed to have 6 months of mortgage payments for both the house and the condo ON TOP of the money for the down payment on the house. SERIOUSLY!!!! Most people don't have that kind of money just sitting in their bank account. This is literally like 3 days before closing. Everyone thought we were good and fine to own both properties and then this underwriter decides to be super unreasonable, and there isn't anything we can do about it.

Now if you know me, I'm super anxious and super emotional. Chris was actually really impressed with how calm I actually stayed through all the selling, looking, buying process. I don't know why but I was actually pretty calm. Even with the stupid underwriter, I got a little anxious and stressed, but overall I just felt like it would work out (I'm not sure why, it was a mess.)

Through some miracle, lots of work, and some extremely kind people, we were able to buy the house on time, on the original close date. What a relief, and so exciting! We got this great house, in a great neighborhood, in a great location. After lots of deep cleaning, new carpet, and packing we moved into our new house in Pleasant Grove on April 25th.

And the 3rd time was the charm on the condo. A few weeks later the sale on our condo closed. Just in time to not have to pay two mortgages.

God's Plan vs. My Plan
What I learned from all of that craziness is that God has your back. We prayed a lot during all of that, and our families were praying for us too. Now that I look back and it is over it doesn't seem like all that big of a deal. When we were in the middle of it though, it was a lot of big deals, and it seemed like we couldn't catch a break. At the bigginning of it if I had made a plan of how it would how worked out best, it wouldn't have been anything like how it actually happened. Now looking back it worked out perfectly, so much better than I could have planned it. Because I just can't see all the moving parts, but God can. He loves us, he wants us to be happy, and he is looking out for us. I know he answered our prayers and put things in place to make everything work our for us.

Traveling Day
We left for California on Thursday, July 16th, 6 days before surgery. Because of pre-op appointments and her cardiac cath we had to go that early.

And I never finished this post so that is where it ends! There are lots of pictures in our Instagram books from this time.

Estee's Birth Story Cont.

That first night in the hospital with Estee was not very restful. They let me rest for a while and then brought Estee in when she needed to eat and after that I just kept her with me. They kept coming in and taking her to check her glucose levels, and then they came in checking me and taking my blood and whatever else, and I was feeding her.....so in between all of that I tried to sleep a little, but let's be honest there wasn't a whole lot of that. But my friend Abby said she would hook me up with a nice quiet room and that she did. Thanks Abby!

Now I don't remember all the details of the next day because I am writing this second half of the birth story 5 months after Estee was born. That morning my parents, Chris's parents and Chris and Aili came to visit. I was really interested to see what Aili thought of the whole thing. She came in and sat by me and said hi to the baby, but didn't seem that interested. I think shes just didn't understand why everyone was together and in the hospital. It was all a little overwhelming. We gave her a little gift from the baby which was some princess crowns. My mom gave her a little toy violin. Ever since Aili saw a performance of the song "Say Something" by A Great Big World and Christina Aguilera being performed on TV she has loved pretending to play the violin with sticks outside or whatever, so my mom thought that would be fun. My nurse loved it, she thought Aili as so cute playing the violin. The nurse took her out to the nurses station to have her perform for them, because she is just the cutest.

We had a bunch of visitors this day. Logan, and Kristen came and visited. Josh, Kyla, their kids and Amy came and visited. And later that night Jen visited.

I had Estee in the room with me the whole next night. I just felt like getting the hang of taking care of her on my own and I didn't think I would be getting that much sleep anyway. The next morning the doctors came in and checked on me and Estee. We both looked good. Estee's glucose had stayed good, and she had passed all her tests. I asked the Pediatrician when we were suppose to go in for Estee's first appointment and he said 2 weeks. "2 weeks!" I said. That was a big change for us. We were at the hospital or doctors office constantly with Aili so that seemed forever for me. I asked if I could go in at a week just to have piece of mind and he said that was fine. I asked the nurse how soon I could check out, she said if the doctors said we were good to go whenever I wanted to. I wanted to get out as early as possible so she said she would start working on the discharge papers. I think most people enjoy the hospital stay, like having the extra help. I hate it. I think I have just stayed in the hospital way too much with Aili. I much rather be in the comfort of my own home, with my bed and my family anyday.

I called Chris and told him we were checking out soon after they got to the hospital. I felt like I waited forever for Chris and Aili to get there. Chris said that Aili had been asking for me a lot. Asking where I was. I was actually kind of surprised because she loves her daddy, but she has never not had a day without me, so that was weird for her. She came into the room and I picked her up and hugged her. I just started crying she walked into that room and I just felt like she had changed so much, it wasn't the same Aili. She was so big, and just seemed different. This new baby thing is a big change for a family! Not long after they got their we packed everything up and headed home.

I actually felt really good. Tired but good. I felt a lot better than I did with Aili. And can I tell you how amazing it was to go home WITH my baby! Hallelujah! The most wonderful happy feeling! Such a nice change from last time. I got home and felt really good, until I started walking around too much and then I could feel my legs swelling.

Logan, Kristen, Olin and Aanders came to visit us on their way out of town. It was nice to have them here to see Estee. Neither of my brothers were in town when Aili was born....not that they could have seen her. And Sean was out of town for Lacrosse for Estee's birth so it was nice to have Logan and Kristen there so I didn't feel like an only child.

Can I just tell you how much I LOVE newborns. The are so yummy and cuddly. I just could sit and rock in my chair holding Estee sleeping on my forever. It is one of the best things in the WHOLE world. I tried to cherish it as much as I could. I realized how much I missed out with Aili. We didn't get to enjoy her as a newborn. She was in the hospital during that whole fresh newborn stage and I didn't get to cuddle her and hold her enough. So I didn't care how tired I was, I was just so happy to be able to have my baby home holding her, and taking care of her. I love my babies so much. My heart really just feels like it could explode sometimes. And I'm so grateful to have a healthy baby!

Aili has been great with Estee. Not overbearing, but likes. Her She likes to get her stool and stand with me at the changing table and help me. She hands me the diaper and the wipes and the "baby cream". She talks to Estee in the sweetest high pitched voice. I love it. I really hope they love each other forever.

Estee's Birth Story

First off. Having Mother's Day the day before you are delivering your second child is difficult. I was already so emotional. And then as I sat in sacrament meeting listening to the talks thinking about Aili and this new little baby I was like crying the whole time. Also, tangent, the primary kids got up to sing Mother's day songs and Chris stood Aili up so she could see the kids sing. And she looks at him and says, "I go up and sing too?" And Chris says, "No, just the older kids." And poor little Aili had tears come to her eyes and looked so sad. Chris looked at me, and we decided to just let her run up there. It was the cutest thing I have ever seen. She tried to wiggle her way to the front. You could barely see her little eyes peaking up over the stand, but you could just tell shes was beaming. She didn't even know any of the song they were singing, but she loved it. When she came down the stairs and ran back to us, I think my heart almost burst. She had the most amazing smile on her face and she couldn't have been happier. I love being a parent!

The only decent picture of us on Mother's Day.
Last Pre Natal Appointment
Okay so Friday, May 9th I had my last pre-natal appointment. I met with the doctor that was scheduled to induce me on Monday, May 12th. I was a little nervous because the week before I met with a different doctor and I was not even dilated to a 1 so he said if I didn't dilate more by the 12th they might not induce me. So May 9th was a big day to see if I had progressed at all. I'm not going to lie part of me hoped that he was going to tell me I couldn't be induced yet and would have to wait. Part of me wanted to get induced because I was done being pregnant and my older brother and his fam was going to be in town for just a few days so they would be able to see the baby.

Well he told me I was dilated to 1-1/2 and that he was fine inducing me. He said that it might take a little longer because I hadn't progressed much on my own, but that it would be fine. I thought okay well if you are okay with it I'm okay with it. I was really excited at first and then I started second guessing it all over again. I knew my body, I knew how things went with Aili, and I knew that I wasn't really ready to have the baby yet. I didn't want the induction and labor to take so long that it caused complications with me or the baby, or then resulted in a C-section. Everyone told me it would be fine, so I just went with it.

Day Before Delivery/ Morning of Delivery
Sunday I got a call from the hospital saying they weren't sure when they would have me come in in the morning. They would call me sometime between 6am and 8am to let me know how things went through the night and when I could come in. I was first on the list for inductions so they said that unless it was crazy busy through the night I would just come in morning. I really didn't like not knowing when I was going in. With Aili's induction I knew I was going in at 7am and I liked that. I put my phone in my room turned on the ringer and then hoped I heard it! I didn't sleep too well early in the morning because I was anticipating the call. I believe they called around 6:45 and told me to be there by 8:30. We let our parents know, and Grandma Andrea came over to be with Aili for the day. Aili was still asleep when we left. We debated waking her up and saying goodbye before we left but we decided to just let her sleep. We got to the hospital and they sent us straight into the delivery room. The first one on the left as you go through the doors. The same room I delivered Aili in.

8:30 - 9:00 AM
I got changed into the glamorous gown. They put all my bracelets on asked me the 100 questions, got my IV going (which they put in my arm instead of my hand this time which hurt way less), and the got the pitocin dripping my 9:00am. The nurse said I was dilated to a 1+ so no progress since Friday. Boo.

9:00 AM - 12:35 PM
Dr. Lamareux was the doctor on call doing my induction/deliver. I love him, he is awesome. But he had a delivery at Timpanogos hospital that he had to leave for so me and a handful of other women at American Fork hospital had to wait some time before he came and broke our water. It was kind of frustrating because we just wanted to get things moving along, and that wasn't going to happen until my water broke. By 12:35 he was back and broke my water. I was now dilated to a 2.

12:35 - 2:30 PM
I was having contractions. But they weren't very intense. They were consistent but not too painful. I just decided to get my epidural so I could just completely relax and not worry about anything. I got the epidural at 2:30pm. It went in well, no problems. It's always a little nerve wracking as you are sitting there, back rounded trying to relax as they stick a huge needle into your spine, but it all went really well.

2:30 - 3:00 PM
My epidural was really kicking in and it was awesome. I couldn't feel any pain just a little pressure, and I could still move my feet and legs. At 3:00pm they put the catheter in and I was dilated to a 2 still. My nurse was saying she was going to get this baby our before she was done at 6 but now it wasn't looking too promising. She said with the external monitors for the contractions they can't tell how strong they are, just how often they are happening. So she decided to put in an internal monitor so we knew how strong they were. Well turns out I was having lame, wussy contractions. She said they were "menstrual cramps", so pretty much nothing. They weren't strong enough to move things along. So now that they knew were I was at they turned up my pitocin to the max that they could. They have a certain score they want you at and I wasn't even close, but once they turned up the pitocin I was getting there. Then my nurse bailed on me. She decided to go home early to be with her kids, so I got some other nurse for a few hours that covered for her until the new nurse came at 6.

3:00 - 7:00 PM
We just chilled for 4 hours. My mom showed up to hang out with us, thinking that by the time she got there something more would be happening, but it wasn't. My epidural was still rocking. I pretty much couldn't feel anything, not even much pressure. My new nurse showed up, she was young and cute, her name was Jessica I believe. (Crazy how much I have forgotten in 7 weeks). I really liked her. At 7:00 she checked to see if I had progressed. After 4 hours we were hoping that there would be some good progress but they checked and I was only a 3 and 90% effaced. I was super disappointed. I was hoping that this would go faster than with Aili, but that wasn't going to happen. I couldn't believe I had been there for 10 1/2 hours and I was only at a 3. I had already had Aili already at this time, so I was super depressed. When the nurse left the room I just started to cry.

7:00 - 8:25 PM
The nurses kept asking me if I was feeling pressure through the whole day and I wasn't, no pressure, I really couldn't feel anything with the epidural, sometimes if a really strong contraction came I could feel the pressure in my stomach. At 8:25 I as dilated to a 4 and completely effaced. I rolled over to my other side to see if they would get things going. Chris kept telling me that it was going to start going really fast now. Once I got to the point with Aili things started progressing quickly, but I wasn't going to get my hopes up. We really thought that we would have a baby here by this time, that Aili could possible come see her and Chris could go home and put Aili to sleep, but ya, that wasn't going to happen. That's why you just have to go in with no expectations, because then you aren't let down.

I didn't say this to anyone else but I was thinking that if there were any complications I was going to be really mad at myself because I knew my body wasn't ready to have the baby yet. I started to regret being induced even though I was 40 weeks. I was just getting scared that it was taking so long. But the nurse kept telling me that the baby was looking really good, so I just needed to relax and keep waiting. Which wasn't really a problem because I wasn't in pain or anything, it was just starting to be a really long day of waiting. And even though you can't feel pain your body is still going through a lot and getting tired. I watched Dancing with the Stars. My dad decided to come hang out with us for a little bit, because he waited all day thinking that a baby was going to be here by now too.

8:25 - 10:20 PM
The nurse came in at 10:20 and told me that the baby's heart beat wasn't looking to good, which of course worried me. I mean the poor baby is going through a long time of stress trying to be forced out. So now I was really worried about complications happening. I rolled back over to my other side and they put me on some oxygen and her heart rate started looking good again. At this point I was dilated to a 5 1/2.

10:20 - 10:50 PM
So you know that pressure that the nurses kept asking me if I was feeling? Well I didn't really know what they were talking about until right now. All of a sudden I was feeling MAJOR pressure, like MAJOR pressure. I knew something was finally happening. I was like, Oh my gosh, oh my gosh I feel a lot of pressure! Chris grabbed the nurse. She came in and checked me and I was at a 9 1/2!!! WOOT WOOT finally! Nothing...and then all of a sudden in 30 mins I was basically there! The nurse went to check with Dr. Lamareux...he was in a C-section! Ah! bad timing!

10:50 - 11:02 PM
The nurse turned down my pitocin at this point to slow the baby from coming before the doctor could get there. My dad left the room, because thing were about to go down. I was still feeling ALOT of pressure. Like Chris check once just to make sure the babies head wasn't coming out. I don't remember feeling this pressure with Aili, but who knows. And then I started shaking uncontrollable. I know for sure that did not happen with Aili, it was really weird. I was just shaking, shaking, shaking. But I was excited because I knew I was finally going to have this baby! At 11:07 the nurse turned off my pitocin. My contractions were getting closer together. The nurse said that the doc was on the last layer of stitches. I wanted him to hurry for my sake...but not for the sake of the women he was stitching up.

11:02 - 11:07
The doctor and extra nurse showed up and I started pushing. The doctor can see hair! Yipee, love hair! They called respiratory to come up because they could see some meconium in the fluid.

11:13
On my 3rd set of pushes. The doctor has me do some pushes when I'm not having contractions. (I didn't know it at the time but it was because the cord was wrapped around her neck twice. Chris said he saw that, looked at Dr. Lamareux and he looked really calm, so Chris didn't worry too much. Chris said he put is fingers under the cord and had the baby somersault out of me so that he could get the cord off of her neck. Chris said it was pretty cool. I'm so thankful for doctors that know what they are doing and stay calm so that I stay calm!)

11:18
Little Estee Emeline Mitton is born! 7 lbs. 15 oz. 20 inches long.! I really didn't think she would come before midnight at one point. So I was really glad she did! The 12th for a birthday sounded way better than the 13th (right Steph ;). I remember crying once they handed Aili to me, but this time as soon as I felt Estee slide out I just started sobbing. I can't even really tell you why. Childbirth is intense, and so emotional. I was just so SO happy that she was here. It is just like this major flood of all these emotions just come out with the baby. You just can't really describe the moment, but it was incredible, and overwhelming in a great way.

The whisked her off to be suctioned by the respiratory team. And I just watched intently. This time I was aware of them getting the placenta out of me. I don't remember that at all with Aili. Chris saw, I did not, didn't want to.

I had a little tear that the doctor quickly stitched up. And then they gave me little Estee to hold. And I was still just crying and crying. Just the happiness that you feel is so amazing. It's unreal that this baby grew inside of you and now she is here and you are holding her.

My dad came back in soon after. He was weirded out because when he left everything went really fast and then he came back in and the baby was here! We took some pictures, and I just cuddled little Estee. She came out crying and she did not stop crying. When she was on me she would calm down a little and then just start crying really hard again. I just patted and rubbed her back and told her it was okay. I just loved her so much. Chris asked if he could hold her and I said, "NO!" Ha ha dude I just did 9 months of a lot of work and then just had a really long day waiting, and then I had to push the baby out. And even though the pushing wasn't long or hard I was going to hold and cuddle my baby on my skin as long as I wanted. I don't think I actually said that to him, but I think he understood.

Eventually everyone else left the room and I tried to feed Estee. She would latch on well but then just start crying really hard again. By this time I had ANOTHER new nurse (the 4th of the day!) because Jessica was only working a half shift. I really liked this new nurse she really took care of me. I didn't' like the night nurse I had after having Aili so that was a relief. Because Estee was crying really hard and wouldn't stop the nurse just wanted to have her go down to the nursery to be check out, so the nurse, Chris and Estee left. The nurse Jessica had brought me a little box lunch thing right after Estee was born, because she knew I was starving after 16 hours of not being able to eat. All I had had was juice and these frozen lemonade things all day. So after everyone left me to myself I scarfed that sandwich and whatever else was in the box down. I eat fast already, but I couldn't get the food in my mouth fast enough.

Then the nurse came back up and got me all cleaned up and changed to be moved down to the 2nd floor.

Oh my adorable sad face!

She has REALLY long big feet. He toes are SO long.

Creeper Logan peeking through the window.

My dad, mom, and older brother Logan (who stayed up and brought me lovely flowers) were all waiting for me and walked down with us. Luckily I have an awesome friend Abby that works in the nursery that comes in to bathe and take care of my babies and hook me up with good room. I got a nice quiet room at the end of the hall in the corner. It was awesome. The nurse talked to me for a while then I chatted with my fam, then Abby came in to give me the scoop on Estee. Estee had low glucose.....which is exactly what happened with Aili. And Abby said she promised everything would be okay this time though. I guess Chris had suggested that they try giving her some formula to get the glucose up. And they gave her some formula and they said she just sucked it down so fast. Like an unusual amount for a newborn. They had to stop her. Up until that point she had just been crying and crying, and then she drank that formula and was fine! Poor girl was just starving like her momma! Estee came in with me for a little bit and then when back to the nursery when everyone left so that I could try to rest a little, until she needed to eat again The plan was to have her in the regular nursery and just check her glucose before and after feedings to back sure it was staying at a good level and then hopefully she would not have to go to the dreaded level two nursery. By this time I don't know what time it as....way to late...or early...however you look at it. That was one LONG day.

To be continued.....

Last Outing Before Baby #2

We went to the Thanksgiving Point Tulip Festival for one of our last outing out as a family of 3 before baby sister came. Chris was trying to get me to ride in a wheel chair, which was ridiculous. My feet do hurt really bad walking around when I'm pregnant, but I was not going to be pushed in a freaking wheel chair. Then he tried to convince me to pay for a golf cart, which was also lame. Obviously I won and just walked, and I did just fine. I just had to wear comfortable shoes, go slow, and sit down, and I was fine. It was also a very nice day, perfect temp, not too hot. It was beautiful. We went on a weekday afternoon so their weren't very many people there, and it was a great afternoon with the fam!

We also went the the little farm place at Thanksgiving Point, we got a pass so we were using it. We figured if Aili loved the carousel, she would love riding real horses, and oh did she! I can't get enough of her cute face and expressions.
