Going Private

So, I just received a comment from someone and I have NO idea who they are. So... I'm going private! I have been putting this off for a really long time because I know some people who only check my blog every once in a while.

Being Bad...

I'm sitting in my Economics class right now. We have been here almost 20 minutes and my teacher is still off on some tangent. Just so you're aware (if you couldn't tell already) this is my least favorite class. Everyone in clawed barely passed the test so we obviously aren't learning anything. Oh and the final is over the whole semester... It's going to be a long semester.

On a positive note my friend just told me her and her husband may be moving to the area and are already looking for plaaces in my ward without even knowing it was my ward!!! Love it!

Neighbors

So here's the deal. Rusty and I found this AWESOME apartment that we instantly fell in love with when we were looking. For the first few months we were spoiled and had the quietest neighbor on one side and no one on the other. Until about a month ago when this man moved in... I'm not even kidding when I say I could tell you everything that happens/he's listening to/watching... it's insane how loud this man is. Rusty and I actually paused a show we were watching to laugh because he was jamming out to early 90's feminist music! You know, the Alanis Morissette and that type. We laughed for a good while and told the missionaries (who live on one side of us) about it and they got a good laugh too...  As of right now he's having a phone conversation with someone. It's apparently a good one because he's laughing a lot...

Off to class. I guess I don't have to hear him for another couple hours...

School

School started for me yesterday. I wish Rusty had taken a picture of me like when your kids start their first day of school... It would have been very unattractive... I am not one to get all dressed up to got to classes. T-shirt and jeans. Tennis shoes or flip-flops if the weather is nice enough (which by the way last night it was not, but I had them on and forgot to change.). I have been out of an actual classroom setting for a few years, and am realizing how much better it is for me. I'm a sit through a lecture and learn type of student. Just check my transcript from my online school... It shows.
I find it funny how well Rusty knows me. Yes I know we are married, and should know everything about each other, or most as we get to know each other more, but Rusty's never really been there when I've had more than a TON of homework and hasn't seen my freak out about it. He still prays that I will be OK and know that it will be over eventually and, as he said last night, that "learning is fun." I'm grateful he has the priesthood and could give me a blessing to start off the semester... (If you can't tell, I get kind of anxious sometimes!).

Anyway, since school has started I will finally have something to do all the time instead of catch up on TV shows, or clean, or just try to figure something out to do. I already have homework, and I'm ready to go...

Here's hoping this attitude of being ready keeps up the whole semester!

Newlywed Happenings

So Rusty and I have probably had 2 of the busiest months in all the time we've been together... We've been married about 2 and a half months and we don't seem to have slowed down since the wedding. We've had an especially busy holiday season (Thanksgiving included!). We spent Thanksgiving at his Grandmother's house in Cuero, Tx.  Since probably none of you know where that is I'll just make it easy and say it's Southeast of Austin about 2 hours. It's the turkey capitol of Texas apparently as well. We stayed the night before to spend some time with his Grandma and then everyone else came down the next day.  It was fun to see everyone again and spend some time with them . After dinner we went out and shot handguns. I'm not the biggest fan of guns, but it's still kind of fun to shoot them at mounds of dirt.

Do I look tough or what? It was a FREAK weather day too... It was 80 degrees when we left and Rusty and I drove into the storm and watched the temperature drop on the dash from 80 to around 45 in a matter of an hour or so... it was way weird! 

The very next weekend Rusty and I took off to Arizona to spend time with some of my family out there. We found some AMAZING tickets that we couldn't pass up and Tami and Lee were awesome and let us stay with them the whole weekend. Rusty loved meeting some of my cousins and hanging out with them all. Tami and Lee kept us busy and Ginger and her family came to play every day too.

After about a week or so of just being here in town and hanging out we saw an article in a newspaper about all these houses here in town that had tons of Christmas lights. So we set out one night and drove to see them.  We followed the list mostly, but found there were a ton of other houses around that had better ones. 

This was a fun one that had the whole yard going towards this little gingerbread house.

A Hawaiian Christmas! I liked it!

This was my favorite. This whole cul-de-sac gets together and connect houses with lights and had the story of the Night Before Christmas and TONS of lights!

The weekend before Christmas Rusty's family had a family reunion in San Antonio at the Marriott on the Riverwalk. Gemma and Amy were singing with their choir the first night so we went down to see them. Gemma was hanging out with her friends so we didn't see much of her, but the other kids were happy to see us...

That night the girls sang in another concert that we stayed down for. It was a long weekend, but still very fun.

For Christmas we spent some more time at his Grandma's and then spent Christmas Eve and Day with my family. It was fun to spend some time with everyone and we are both looking forward to a little less busy time. I start school in January and will finish with an associates of business this coming summer and then we will see where life takes us. We are looking forward to the new year and hope everyone has had a great year.  We will see what 2011 has in store for us and maybe do some more traveling... just not so soon! :)
