Carpets of primroses


 Some of the beautiful areas in Penmount Crematorium/Garden of Remembrance grounds. No planting is allowed, only Nature's loveliness. In a few weeks this will be a mass of bluebells.

Too Far?

 When I first read the headlines about Iceland decorating Hot Cross buns with a tick instead of a cross, I wondered, just for a moment, why the country of Iceland would be so interested in a very British food.

Then I realised it was the  British company known as Iceland.....

Above ,we have some perfectly normal Hot Cross buns, eaten during Easter to remember the Crucifixion of Jesus, once traditionally eaten on Good Friday (but nowadays any time from February onwards)



And here we have the Hot Tick buns. A step too far? 

Or as my grandma used to say..''I don't know what the world is coming to''.

A rhododendron walk.

Despite the rain, I had a delightful stroll in Trelissick Gardens today.  Apart from the squirrels gambolling on the lawn, there were very few walkers.


The Rhododendrons in the garden, some of which must be hundreds of years old, are looking spectacular now, covered in deep red blooms.




I chatted to one of the gardeners, and we agreed that this was a very special year.


Even a tiny puddle was decorated with petals! I
wonder if a child had created this.

As I approached the entrance to the garden, the staff had made their own decoration which I thought was stunning. Heads of Daffodils and Camellia floating together.


I am so fortunate to have this National Trust Property only a couple of miles from my home. It is somewhere that I can wander, either on my own or with friends, calming and beautiful.
