It's A ....

He's Home!!

Jason was deployed overseas for 3 1/2 months. He left just before Christmas and came home almost two weeks ago. It was challenging being a 'single' parent. I had/learned to rely on my Heavenly Father, family and friends for support. And at times I didn't rely on anyone and I really struggled. I am in awe of the women who have to be 'single' mothers longer than I and having their husbands away for longer than I did. I did not blog about Jason being away because this is a public blog and in reality anyone could be looking it; I didn't want to advertise that I was alone. I am so thankful that he is home with us again. He will be deployed again (and again) and as before I may not blog about it until after the fact, if I blog about it at all. However, this being his first deployment I want to celebrate his homecoming and let everyone know how proud I am of my husband. He works so hard. I am grateful for the support he gives to our country and to our family. I know he did not enjoy being away from us for so long. Thankfully we could communicate easily through e-mail and Skype. The boys and I were able to talk to him on a fairly regular basis, they loved their video chats with Daddy. I was worried that Harrison would be a little afraid of Jason but I think because we got to see his face on video he was able to remember Daddy better. Jason has a little bit more time off before starting work again. It has been so wonderful to spend every day together as a family.

Productive Night

Even though I've been hormonal, irritable and grouchy all day I managed to have a productive evening after the boys went to bed.

Tonight I ...

• Loaded the dishwasher and did the hand-washing
  
• Washed the counters and wiped down the stove
• Took out all of the trash and took the big can to the curb
• Cleaned off the kitchen table, put on place mats, dishes and cereal for in the morning
• Did two loads of laundry (washed and dried but not folded--at least their clean!)
  
• Made a lunch and dinner menu and grocery list for the next week

Now, my sciatic nerve is beating the heck out of my right leg. Gotta love sciatic nerve pain during pregnancy. I think I'll go lay down and relax....or better yet, I'll just go to sleep!

The Brave Little Toaster

I loved this movie when I was little. I haven't seen it in years. We get it tomorrow from Netflix. Friday night is now our 'Family Movie Night', so I have to wait a few days before we watch it. I am excited to watch it with Luke though. I think he'll really like it!

Potty time

Luke hasn't had an accident in his underwear in two days! We're on our way to being out of diapers. HOORAY! Now, for my next trick I will attempt to have Harrison potty trained before the baby comes. Only one child in diapers would be awesome.

Harrison has learned how to fend for himself. Usually Luke cries when Harrison tackles him (this was the first time he'd ever completely pinned Luke down) but thankfully this night they were just happily playing and, believe it or not, Luke was laughing.
