Washington Trip

Mason and I celebrated our 9th Anniversary last year by visiting the city from my childhood in Redmond, now called Sammamish, Washington. Mason's mother, Robin, and his sister, Becky, and son, Oliver, were generous enough to come and watch the kids while we were gone for about 5 days. By the end, I was ready to come home. I missed my kids and my normal routine. It was soooo nice to get away with Mason though. He is such a wonderful companion and support to me. I love him so much.

When we arrived in Seattle, we drove to my best friend, Beth Jensen's home. They were kind enough to put us up for the night. And on top of that, they offered to let us stay longer! What generosity! When we walked into their guest room, it was as if we walked into a hotel room with rolled up towels and treats on our pillows. I was very touched by the efforts that were made to make us feel so incredibly welcomed.
After our first night there at the Jensen's, we stayed at The Redmond Inn for the remainder of our visit. We visited old homes, schools, and I also got to see Jenny Richardson Zuniga and her family! It was nice to see my friends again.

Christa McAuliffe Elementary School

I attended this school for 5th and 6th grade. It was BRAND spanking new.

Ahh... the playground where I was a Conflict Manager and where I hit my head on the asphalt playing Red Rover, Red Rover.

Inglewood Jr. High.... where I attended 7th, 8th, and 9th grade.

Summer Ridge

The Summer Ridge Park down the street from our abode.

Summer Ridge Home... where Dane put a hole in the wall the first week we lived there while making a VERY IMPORTANT movie.... that unfortunately was never completed. :(

Snoqualmie Falls

We took a quick drive to Snoqualmie Falls on our first night in Washington. Beth and I had a good time catching up and playing bunny ears during the photos. It was so good to see Beth again. It's been about 9 years since we last saw each other. She's one of my best friends from my childhood. I was always at her house.... eating, playing Nintendo, playing Ghost in the Graveyard. Good times.... :)

Twin Falls

We hiked to Twin Falls on our first full day in Washington. It was just gorgeous! We hiked with Beth and her sister and father. I loved being out in the woods again. The waterfalls were beautiful and so were the trees and the stream that we waded in at the end.
