Thanksgiving Break

We went to St. George for Thanksgiving Break.

We lounged around, ate, slept in, ate, went hiking once, and probly ate some more...

The only pictures I ended up taking were these on our hike:

Then we had to come home early, because I had to work on Thanksgiving Day.
Colonel insisted that we have a "real" Thanksgiving dinner still... (All I wanted was Rubio's...)
It was our first Thanksgiving on our own. It was kinda boring, and the food was... well... let's just say my Grandma is a better cook.

I struggled all day cooking- tried to make yams- ran out of brown sugar... just not the same- made a chicken instead cause we don't like turkey, and made homemade biscuits.... (from a package). I did attempt to make a pie, though, which was probably the best part, because it actually turned out.

[I like my whipped cream.]

Then we did our tree:

And that's about it.
Back to school, Back to work.

Until next time....

Halloween

Here are some pictures from our Halloween...

Carved some pumpkins...
And then roasted the seeds (which were delicious....)

And then took some Halloween cookies to some Grandmas.

We didn't do much, but it was still fun

It's OFFICIALLY....

Cool Enough to finally plant my flower pot without having it get shriveled in the heat...

(Thought I'd better take a picture while they're still, well,.... alive....)

Yesterday, Colonel had his "White Coat Ceremony" for school.
He is now Officially......... um........the owner of a white coat, I guess.........?!

Colonel's Dean and Advisor putting on the coat

Some of Colonel's school Friends

And us after the ceremony:

Colonel was one of 800 students to get a white coat!

I also made my first OFFICIAL project with my sewing machine:
(also Featured in the pic above)

What, you say? A simple headband? That's right.
Using just only one piece of fabric + sewing only straight lines = Something I can Actually make!

One more thing:
It's officially cool enough to use a blanket at night. Yes, you heard me! It now gets down to a chilly 70 degrees. Brrrr.

Guess I Better Learn....

... To Sew, that is! Colonel bought me this for my birthday:

And I love it. Except I don't know how to sew.

He also got me these:

With a homemade crayon drawing.

We went to dinner at PITA JUNGLE- Delicious! (except the disgusting babaganoush dip, which tasted like ash tray).

Then he got me tickets to this:

I know, totally a guy-type of gift, but I must admit, it was actually quite fun. The best part was the fights. One guy got knocked out and laid there for like 20 seconds. It kinda scared me....

We also got to wear our own hockey outfits:

Would you take a look at Colonels eyes. We have the devil on our hands...

(You can see it better if you enlarge the picture)

After the game, we went outside of the stadium and tried to take some pictures of ourselves, but some guy offered to take them for us instead. I get home and look at them and they look like this:

Thanks, man. We'd have been better off doing it ourselves.
He was just trying to be nice, so that we'd go to his bar and buy some drinks... Whatever.

On my real birthday, we went to friends house, had dinner, and cake, and then got done eating our cake, and learned that our other friend had made a cake for me too. EEEnough cake, thank you.

All in all it was a pretty good birthday! Now if I could just learn to read a pattern....

Pedro

We were invited to go to a 'Murder Mystery' party at our friends house. For the game, we were assigned characters... My role was to be Melinda, a movie star and Kern ("Rick") was a Hawaiian tourist/businessman. Our costumes:

Colonel looks a bit like he belongs in the bookings...

We got Colonel's awesome shirt at Savers, (on sale!) for a dollar, in the little boy's section. Love Bargains.

And here's an up close view of his mustache:

Gross.

I made him shave it right when we got home. [Can you say Pedro?]
He played his part well, though. He's a much better actor than I am.

And here is the whole group:

Neither me or Kern was the killer...Even by the end of the game, I had no clue who it was- my mind is not wired right to figure out these kinds of things...

Other than playing murder games, Kern starts back up school tomorrow, and I am pretty sure all I EVER do is work. I think by now, I've given everyone in the Phoenix valley a flu shot, swabbed every sick kid's throat, and waited in WAY too much stop-n-go traffic for my liking. I need a vacation.

One Down.

Many Hours of Studying (kind of...) + 15 Exams + Tons of Boring Lectures + Lots of Final Exams + Lots of Dollars + Lots of Stress = One Pharmacy School Quarter Finished.

Only Eleven More to Go.

For now, Colonel is headed here:

This could be a long three years...

Fate

Of the Fish...

The Fish died last week. I hope Colonel still plans on graduating....

The week before that, I went to Boise for the family reunion. We had fun, ate, played games, ate, went swimming and ate some more...

Me and My Twinner Aunt

I also met up with some old friends while I was in Boise for a good game of Settlers, of which I won.And then the week before that was Colonel's birthday. We went to a Diamondbacks game with some friends.

And this week, my mom and Jaycee came down to visit before school started. We went shopping, ate, went swimming, ate, did crafts, ate... and gained five pounds.

That's about all for now. Dead fish, Crazy Family, Birthday parties, and Gaining weight.

The end.

Finally.

I finally finished organizing the house. It took a me a month, but I finished. Here are many pictures...

The office. We made that desk all by ourselves :)

The kitchen. (Poor photography skills)
Our bedroom.

The patio. (Unusable when it's 113 degrees outside.) **See comment below

The pool. Quite nice, when it's 113 degrees outside.

Our table/living room area.

Living room from view of front door.

And of course, The Fish. Colonel's goal while we're here is to keep him alive for the full three years (Nevermind studying or graduating...)

And of course, There's a guest bedroom too, but no one seems to want to come use it....?

** And oh yeah- something me and Kern got a kick out of. It keeps "warning" us on the news that it's supposed to be hot. They're calling them "heat warnings." They tell you to stay inside, and "check on everyone" because it's supposed to be hot outside. DUH!?!

It's not news to us... We are well aware, but apparently the rest of Phoenix isn't.... This must be the first summer it's ever been hot here...

Hmm... I don't get it...?!?

New Addition to the Family....

We added a new member to our family today...

The best part is:

-we don't have to change it's diaper
-we only have to feed him one pebble, once a day
-he doesn't whine
-when he dies, we flush 'im.

Meet Stanley:

Colonel just had to have him.

Before... and After....

Projects...

Before...

and After...

Hmmm.... Very Green-ish.

Did I Mention it is HOT ?!?

So this is what we've been up to....

Organizing our house. Haven't got very far.... It's too HOT to go outside, so I just stay inside with all the blinds closed to keep the sun out, but I get sick of organizing. Oh well, I have three years, right?

The rest of the house is still a mess, so ya only get to see the living room right now. That green spot on the wall is a test paint spot...

We also went to the "Twlight Farmer's Market" that's held every wednesday night. It's just right across the street from us in a shopping complex. It was pretty fun- there were bands, and weird vegetables and stuff...

Here's a pic where I tried to do the whole hold your hand out and take your own picture thing.... I don't think it worked too well. Plus everyone was staring at us so we felt dumb.

Oh well. There was some cool stuff at the Farmer's Market, but the one thing that intrigued me and Kern most was BASIL LIME CUPCAKES. We almost tried one but they were THREE BUCKS each! I couldn't do it. So now Colonel is insisting that I magically make up some basil lime cupcake recipe so he can try them. Sounds weird to me...

And finally, did I mention it is HOT? It's monsoon season right now, (Monsoon? I thought those were the things that happened on tropical islands or whatever... I wish...) so it is HOT and HUMID. Bad combination...

Well more pictures to come after I get our house put together.... sometime....

And oh yeah- we've asked a lot of people to come visit... we haven't had any takers....??? Do we stink???

Should We Be Worried...?!

Well, so far, I am a pretty horrible blogger, but anyway....

So I was looking through some of the pictures on my mom's computer, and found a few pictures of Dallas getting creative with a garbage bag...Take a gander...

I found this...

And This....And This....

Should We Be Worried?!

I can't even remember exactly what Dallas was doing... This is at our house in Phoenix when we moved our stuff down in May. I think he was cleaning, and using bleach, so this was his way of preventing bleach stains on his shorts. I can't wait to show his future wife. Oh he's gonna kill me. :) Good thing I'm moving in 5 days!

Here are some pictures from last month when we moved all our stuff to Phoenix. I know, I know. I'm a slacker...

Can I just say: I hate moving.
