Life in My 40s: Some Things Changed, Some Things Stayed

Life in my 40s looks quite different from what I imagined. Some things have changed completely. Some things, surprisingly, haven't changed at all. Four years ago, I lost my father. Six days later, I had a miscarriage. Even now, putting those two sentences together feels heavy. It was a difficult chapter, and I don't think you go through something like that and remain exactly the same person. Life continued, because somehow it always does. Today, I'm a mother to an almost-five-year-old — a bright little girl who keeps me entertained, challenged and constantly surprised. Watching her grow has made me appreciate time and the ordinary moments a little more. I still work my 8-to-5, and amazingly, I'm still with the same organization after 20 years. I still have the same BFF. Some people really are meant to stay.  But I'm also meeting new people and finding new circles — many of them started as complete strangers. It's funny how new friendships can come into your life...

I Stopped Writing. You Somehow Kept Reading.

Hi. It’s been a while. Actually…six years. My last post here was in June 2020, right in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic. I wrote about working from home, celebrating Raya quietly, missing family and adjusting to what was, at the time, a very strange new normal. And then… life happened. Days became months. Months became years. Work got busier, family life moved along, priorities changed, and somewhere in between all of that, this little blog became very quiet. I honestly thought everyone had moved on too. Until recently, when I logged back into Blogger. 592,000+ all-time views. I had to look at the number twice. What surprised me even more was seeing that people were still visiting the blog. Old posts were still being read. People were still finding their way here through search engines and old links—even though I hadn't written anything new in years. And that made me think. Maybe this little corner of the internet deserves another chapter. So… what now? A lot has changed since ...

Covid-19 Pandemic: Stay at home

Image
My workplace at home Three years has passed after my last post in Aug 2017. We moved twice but this time to a place in KL that we are finally call our own... and I have been working from home for the past two months plus due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The first two weeks was hard for us but along the way, I got to enjoy it until now.. We celebrated Raya at his parents and Gawai at our own place. Just a quiet celebration at home although I missed my family back home, shed tears whenever I watch Gawai's song at Youtube. But whatever it is, life must go on for the better future. I pray for my parents well-being, especially my father who is still bedridden for almost one year plus due to stroke. May God blessed my mak & bapak with good health. Amin. p/s: Stay at home

Itinerary is confirmed

GT is ready with our itinerary program for our next backpack trip. This time around, we decided to add in mount hiking activity into our travel program. 1,717 meter high of an active volcano mountain will be the one that we want to conquer. I am not sure how about my fitness capability but I need to do something about it. I should keep the laziness in me aside and start running on the treadmill.April 2014 is my deadline. One of our craziest moment taken at our room - Hard Rock Penang Hotel, April 2013 Nevertheless, so much things I had in mind and many things that I want to do but somehow, I ended up doing nothing. Hmm.. not really nothing but only 20% out of the real plan. Who does not want a BIG SUCCESS in their life right. Still I am proud that I managed to secure a place for me to put up my stuff for sale. Thanks to dearest friend who believe that I can do so much with my creative hand and mine. I shall make more soon. *cross-finger* VB is my idol.. *wink* Me in Fuschia ...
