Overwriting Revision

[edit]

Hi there - You reverted an edit of mine I made to refine my topic on Antisemitism on Wikipedia (talk). I appreciate the concern. I'm not sure whether the IP changed but I am the same writer and the change is a substantive one. I apologize for the confusion and lack of a static account. Given the niche topic on a talk page and the one hour window on timestamp, it is quite unlikely to be someone else. That said if you strongly disagree, please retain the paragraph I added and use as a response to my initial comment, rather than deleting. Thank you for your patience. ~2026-13711-90 (talk) 08:46, 3 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

You are invited to participate in the Destubathon of the Americas, a contest/editathon which will run from May 1 to May 31. The goal is to destub as many of our 475,000+ stubs for the Americas (from Alaska down to Chile) as possible. New Page Patrol Newsletter - May 2026

[edit]

Hello Aydoh8,

New Page Review queue November 2025 - May 2026

Backlog update

At the time of this message, there are 15,282 articles and 32,951 redirects awaiting review.

After the January–February drive the article backlog was reduced to 15,179 articles and the redirect backlog to 19,053 respectively. Great job! However, both queues are growing rapidly and any additional reviews are highly appreciated.

2024 and 2025 NPP Awards

JTtheOG was selected as the NPP reviewer of the year for both 2024 and 2025, for reviewing the most articles amongst all reviewers.

Hey man im josh and MPGuy2824 won the Redirect Ninja Master Award for 2024 and 2025 respectively, for reviewing the most redirects.

Overall in 2024, one Platinum, two Gold, eight Silver, 12 Bronze and 45 Iron Barnstars were awarded. Additionally, 66 reviewers got the NPP barnstar for doing more than 100 reviews through the year. In 2025, one Platinum, ten Silver, 13 Bronze and 38 Iron Barnstars were awarded. Additionally, 38 reviewers got the NPP barnstar for doing more than 100 reviews through the year.

BoyTheKingCanDance, Rosiestep, SunDawn, and Vanderwaalforces were inducted into the NPP Hall of Fame for having two separate years of 2,000+ article reviews.

January–February backlog drive

The experimental two-month long backlog drive concluded with 183 reviewers patrolling over 27,761 articles and 35,309 redirects, earning over 36,836 points. Congratulations to JTtheOG, who achieved first place with 6,484.6 points in this drive.

May backlog drive

An article-only backlog drive is currently underway. We are hoping to make a big dent in the backlog. You can read more about it or join at Wikipedia:New pages patrol/Backlog drives/May 2026.

PageTriage

An attempt was made to get the New Pages Feed to sort by date marked as reviewed instead of date created. However we had to revert it due to bugs. We may try again in the future. You can subscribe to the Phabricator ticket if you're interested in following along.

Request on 12:52:58, 21 May 2026 for assistance on AfC submission by Halflants+Pichette

[edit]

I am wondering what needs to be changed in order for this document I am creating to not sound "promotional" to you. I am stating clear facts with clear references. The edits that have been made and the page that has been published has not been tampered with or faked to boast or enhance ones achievements. All of these words are factual information backed up by a large amount of references. Please let me know what you would like to see change in order to complete this publish. Halflants+Pichette (talk) 12:52, 21 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

First of all, you are writing about your business for what appears to be the sole intention on promoting it. Using Wikipedia for advertising is not allowed. Second, your username is against policy as it represents a business rather than an individual ("XYZ Company" is not allowed but "John at XYZ Company" or some derivative thereof is acceptable, so long as you abide by the conflict of interest guidelines). Aydoh8[what have I done now?] 12:56, 21 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
I apologize, I did not know my username was not accepted. I am not writing about my business, my username was meant to be something neutral. How do I go about changing that? Halflants+Pichette (talk) 12:58, 21 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
(edit conflict) You can request to change your username at Wikipedia:Changing username/Simple. If you are blocked for a policy violation before your username gets changed, you can request a change of username as part of your unblock request, but you must also convince the admins that you won't directly edit in areas in which you have a conflict of interest. Aydoh8[what have I done now?] 13:01, 21 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
(edit conflict) Also for the record, most of the references in that draft are attributed to various PR pieces, which don't contribute to our notability criteria. Aydoh8[what have I done now?] 12:58, 21 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
I understand the concerns regarding PR-style sourcing and have been working to replace or minimize sources that are primary, affiliated, or award-announcement based where possible. Additional independent architectural coverage is also being added to strengthen the draft further.
I would appreciate any additional guidance regarding which remaining sections or sources still appear promotional so they can be improved accordingly. Halflants+Pichette (talk) 13:00, 21 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Any intervention for reverts?

[edit]

Several edits of mine have been reverted by another user, presumably singular. Is there any intervention? --~2026-33190-89 (talk) 08:22, 4 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Please go back to the ANI discussion you raised, where several people have answered your question. In solidarity, Blue-Sonnet (I'm listening) 08:31, 4 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Articles for Creation backlog drive

[edit]

Hello Aydoh8:

WikiProject Articles for creation is holding a month long Backlog Drive in August!
The goal of this drive is to reduce the backlog of unreviewed drafts to less than a month of outstanding reviews from the current 3+ months. Bonus points will be given for reviewing drafts that have been waiting more than 30 days. The drive is running from 1 August 2026 through 31 August 2026.

You may find Category:AfC pending submissions by age or other categories and sorting helpful.

Barnstars will be given out as awards at the end of the drive.
There is a backlog of over 5000 pages, so start reviewing drafts. We're looking forward to your help! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:36, 19 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

IMO you were too quick to decline a draft based on WP:TOOSOON

[edit]

This is academic now, since the Swift boost mission has launched, but while cleaning up some double redirects to it, I came across a draft on the same topic that you declined back in March, based on TOOSOON. Granted, hindsight is 20/20, but the contents of the draft were certainly verifiable, it met the standard of "would merit an article (per the notability guidelines for events) if the event had already occurred" and preparations were well underway. That just leaves the guidance "almost certain to take place", and, at least with respect to a launch attempt, I believe that was met in March as well. (Mission success is another matter; that's still to be seen.) I don't know how much draft reviewing you do (it's an area I've never worked in, and I thank you for doing so), but I guess I'm suggesting, hopefully without offense, that you be a little more restrained about using TOOSOON as a decline reason in the future. Cheers. Space mission guy (talk) 19:22, 20 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hey, sorry for that article. I expanded that article but then I realized the unite article has some information which I've unknowingly duplicated in the article, and so I panicked and instead of fixing it, I messed it up, but now it's ok. Sorry to bother you, and thanks for your attention. ~2026-44469-02 (talk) 14:01, 13 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

@~2026-44469-02 All good, I also overreacted on my end as it appeared that you'd deleted a large chunk of the article; I didn't see your prior contributions. I've restored it to how it was. Apologies for the confusion. In solidarity, Aydoh8[what have I done now?] 14:03, 13 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
No problem, have a good day, and again, I'm extremely sorry about that. ~2026-44469-02 (talk) 14:05, 13 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Request on 16:38:53, 13 August 2026 for assistance on AfC submission by Cornelius Singleton

[edit]

I am requesting assistance from an independent Wikipedia editor with creating or substantially revising a draft biography about Corneliusknock.

I am the subject of the proposed article, so I have disclosed my conflict of interest. I would prefer that an independent editor review the available sources and help write the article in a neutral, encyclopedic manner.

I have already created a draft and can provide the draft, references, and information about the subject. I understand that the article must meet Wikipedia’s notability, sourcing, and neutrality requirements, and I am willing to accept changes or recommendations from independent editors.

New pages patrol September 2026 Backlog drive

[edit]
September 2026 Backlog Drive | New pages patrol
  • On 1 September 2026, a one-month backlog drive for new pages patrol will begin at a particularly important time for NPP.
  • The backlog has now passed 30,000 unreviewed articles, a level that has been described in current NPP discussions as exceptionally high and potentially difficult to overcome through normal reviewing alone. Backlog drives are one of the few measures that have historically produced a noticeable reduction in the backlog, so the participation of as many active patrollers as possible will matter this month.
  • If you can review during September, please make articles your priority. Every article that is reviewed is a meaningful reduction in the backlog. With the queue at its current size, even a relatively small increase in the number of articles each patroller reviews can add up to a substantial difference over the course of the month.
  • This is a hybrid drive, so redirect reviewing is still included. Redirects can be a useful way for newer patrollers to get comfortable with NPP and can help people build up to reviewing articles. However, the main goal of this drive is to tackle the article backlog, and experienced patrollers are particularly encouraged to spend as much of their available reviewing time on articles as they can.
  • Barnstars will be awarded based on the number of articles and redirects patrolled.
  • Each article review will earn 1 point, while each redirect review will earn 0.2 points.
  • Streak awards will be given out based on consistently hitting point thresholds for each week of the drive.
  • Barnstars will also be granted for re-reviewing articles previously reviewed by other patrollers during the drive.
  • If you have been thinking about doing more NPP, this is an especially good month to jump in. Whether you can review a few pages or hundreds, every review helps. And if you are already an active patroller, please consider whether you can put in some additional time during September to help bring the backlog back under control.
  • Interested in taking part? Sign up here.
