Klamath language

[edit source]

Hi TechnoSquirrel69, would you happen to have any contacts with the Klamath Tribes? I am interested in getting a translation into Klamath language of the phrase "What's making you happy this week?" for the upcoming "On the bright side" piece for The Signpost. Thank you, ༄ᨒ𖠰 Pine () 22:01, 16 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hey Pine! I don't know any Klamath people myself, though an attendee at a recent Portland meetup did work professionally with the governments of several reservations, including, I think, a Klamath reservation. Let me send out an email and get back to you. TechnoSquirrel69 (talk) 03:37, 17 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Hi @TechnoSquirrel69: are there any updates about this? ༄ᨒ𖠰 Pine () 06:09, 23 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
I didn't get a reply from them, unfortunately. —TechnoSquirrel69 (talk) 20:25, 23 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Okay. Thanks for trying. ༄ᨒ𖠰 Pine () 06:16, 28 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Perm

[edit source]

@TechnoSquirrel69 can you add NPP to my alt. acount; @Dafootballguy SOCK? Thank you. In solidarity, Dafootballguy [Want to talk?] 03:39, 20 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Sure, Dafootballguy,  done. —TechnoSquirrel69 (talk) 04:11, 20 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Is Draft:Elijah Culp ready for mainspace? In solidarity, Dafootballguy [Want to talk?] 17:05, 20 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
@TechnoSquirrel69 can you add IP block exemption to my alt. account. The account is for for editing on public computers, which frequently have blocks on them. In solidarity, Dafootballguy (Want to talk?) 22:50, 24 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
I've given it to you for a few months to start with, which seems to be standard practice with IPBE. Let me know once that expires if you're still encountering hard blocks and I can extend that for you. I forgot to get back to you about your draft; apologies! I don't typically take requests to review drafts — you can always send it in to articles for creation review if you'd like an extra pair of eyes on it. :) —TechnoSquirrel69 (talk) 00:50, 25 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
@TechnoSquirrel69 thank you. I haven't used my alt. account except top make sure it works, but I'll tell you if I still need the perm. In solidarity, Dafootballguy (Want to talk?) 01:13, 25 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Page curation tool vs Twinkle question

[edit source]

Hello @TechnoSquirrel69, I have a question about the page curation tool for new page reviews vs Twinkle. Logging a PROD with the page curation tool adds an entry in the page curation log, but doesn't add it to my user Twinkle PROD log (and then, the inverse is true if you use Twinkle's PROD shortcut instead). So, my question is: which path is preferable? Same question applies for things like speedy deletion as well. Thank you for your help — Chao Garden 🌱 ~ say hello 07:48, 24 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hey Chao Garden! You can use this handy script to create entries in your userspace logs when you tag things using PageTriage. The inverse (as far as I know) is not currently possible. Personally, I like to use Twinkle for all of it since the PageTriage interface only appears on "new" pages, meaning I'd need to use the Twinkle buttons anyway to tag any other article, but every patroller has their own preference. Let me know if you have any other questions! :) —TechnoSquirrel69 (talk) 15:10, 24 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

WikiCup 2026 September newsletter

[edit source]

The fourth round of the 2026 WikiCup ended on 29 August at 23:59 (UTC). Everyone who competed in round 4 will advance to round 5 unless they have withdrawn or been removed. Round 4 was competitive, though slightly less so than round 3. Three contestants scored more than 1,000 round points; six scored over 500; and nine scored over 300. Each of the top five competitors had hundreds of points accumulated from multiple GAs. The following competitors scored more than 800 round points:

The full scores for round 4 can be seen here. During this round, contestants have claimed 10 featured articles, 11 featured lists, 8 featured-topic articles, 103 good articles, 6 good-topic articles and more than 30 Did You Know articles. In addition, competitors have worked on 11 In the News articles, and they have conducted 170 peer reviews, FA and GA reviews. The tournament points table has been updated.

Remember that any content promoted after 29 August but before the start of Round 5 can be claimed in Round 5. Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page. Remember, if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed. If you want to help out with the WikiCup, feel free to review one of the nominations listed on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed. Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages. Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove your name from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. Sept. 2026 Wiknic

[edit source]

Sorry I couldn't make it. I was having problems w/ back pain since yesterday & stayed in bed. Hope y'all had fun. What exactly did you do? JoeWiki1969 (talk) 05:54, 6 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hey JoeWiki1969! No worries, and I hope you're feeling better. For the most part, we just had a picnic — lovely weather, good food, and good company. If you're interested in attending a future meetup, I organize them about every month, and I can put you on the invitation list for that. :) —TechnoSquirrel69 (talk) 00:44, 7 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

Requesting revoking TPA

[edit source]

Hello! This is an out-of-process request to revoke TPA for @764ch1ldp0rn. AIV reports are getting stripped out of the bot. Solidarity forever SilvesterTaylor (say meow) 04:46, 7 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

I brought it to AN: . Sorry to disturb! Solidarity forever SilvesterTaylor (say meow) 05:00, 7 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
Seems like Asukite was quicker on the draw than I was. Thanks, both of you! —TechnoSquirrel69 (talk) 05:18, 7 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
All of your efforts as an admin are appreciated. Thanks for getting to this, too, and also for understanding why I went out-of-process. Solidarity forever SilvesterTaylor say meow 05:24, 7 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
No problem. It came up on an edit filter feed for me while I was working on something else, that was an easy call. Looks like a sockpuppet for the record (based on a similar username), I was weighing protection but hopefully they give up. ASUKITE 05:42, 7 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
