Go to audio settings from steam link main menu and try changing it from auto to stereo, sometimes that works.

Restoring Steam Link to factory settings on the device itself solved the problem for me.

if restoring does not work

and using win 10, make sure streaming audio devices are installed and windows is set to use them (disable all other unused audio devices)

if using windows 7, open mixer and make sure steam client bootstrapper volume is maxed

Here it is in 2025, Steam link hardware has been replaced by the app, and recently I have no audio in game. Same thing too where the audio works fine for the Steam link menu, but all games I've tried have zero audio when it streams into the game. I've tried all different settings within Steam (on my PC I'm streaming from), audio settings in Windows 11, but nothing has worked yet. The last time I streamed games to my android device, everything worked fine, but something happened within the past month. I've tried several fixes listed in several Reddit posts on the subject, but still can't get it to work. 😢

link hardware still exists and is not an app

there are apps for android, tvs, pi, windows, linux, mac, ios, quest, etc.....

opt out of the steam beta because that fixed it for me.

same thing is happening to me, very frustrating, ive also tried using steam beta and opting out of it, but neither are a fix for me.
