PS5 controller input changes
Hi!

So I'm just gonna put this in general since I don't see a channel for Android TV specifically.

When I use my PS5 controller through steam normally (connected to my pc) it recognizes the controller as a PS5 controller in most games, for example Hogwarts Legacy.

However when I use steam link on my android TV it changes to generic input and shows me the xbox icons for everything. Mind you, the controller is still connected to my PC!

Is there any way go get around this? I have tried to toggle off the steam inputs thing but sadly that makes it so the controller doesn't work at all in the game.

Również dołączam się do pytania.
Dodatkowo :
I believe this is cause Steam Link/Remote Play forces Steam Input on (basically emulating your controller), so the game will always recognize the controller as an XBox/Xinput controller. No way to turn it off for Link/Remote Play that I've found unfortunately
its steam controller mapping on the host
map them as desired

desktop, bpm, chord and each game can have their own mappings for each controller

on host steam -> settings -> controller
make sure its shown as ps not generic or xbox
You might be surprised, but the problem is still relevant.
Gamepad connected to PC directly - everything works fine, speaker, gyroscope and adaptive triggers
When connecting the gamepad to SteamLink (machine and Android TV app) - the gamepad works, is detected correctly, but as soon as you launch the game - all the icons are from Xbox and the previously mentioned PS5 controller features do not work
What I have not tried... disabled Steam Imput, switched all the gamepad settings in Steam and SteamLink, installed DS4Windows, launched as administrator. But I still have not found a solution
steam input is always enabled for remote play controllers
you need to check the mappings for the game with that controller

and make sure in steam settings controller, ps is enabled

not all games will give ps prompts, most default or only give to xbox prompts
but bpm will show whatever controller type i used

but if a xbox controller is connected to host, and has stick drift, it will always show xbox prompts since that input is always seen as active
In Steam settings I see the PS5 controller. I turned on and off support for PS gamepads. I tested it on PS5 exclusives - SpiderMan 2, the game natively supports the PS5 gamepad and its functions (and they work without SteamLink)
No other controllers are connected
All the same. Trying to use two DualSense controllers via Steam Link using Steam Deck: in Steam it shows as DualSense, but in game shows Xbox buttons.

not all games show ps buttons
most ports from xbox only show xbox buttons
