Steam Link

The image quality on Steam Link is too low
Both the resolution and video encoding are inferior to Virtual Desktop:steamsad:

what are you streaming to?

are you using local connection or to a remote location?

the link hardware is limited to 1080p
it can do that fine using 30-50mb/s lan connection
or if host location has upload of 30+mb/s

on host pc, steam -> settings -> remote play -> advanced client settings (they also apply to host) ->
video = beautiful
audio = 5.1 or highest supported by client device
bandwidth limit = 75mb/s or max upload at host if streaming outside host location
res limit = 1080p for link hardware, or whatever the client supports
tick, hardware encoding, hevc video, and low latency network if on lan and supported by host and client

the client image will be around 1 frame behind the host, with very little audio delay, and image quality matching the host pc

Sorry, I was referring to streaming VR content over a local area network using Steam Link.
