Steam Link

Steam Link

Only disconnect when playing games
For the past month i have been trying to play some games through remoteplay and couldn't play and then i switched to steamlink, at first it could still access normal web browsers and surf steam normally but when i went to play the game it crashed and steamlink lost connection and packet loss. Please give me a solution. Thanks.

what client type?

are you on the same network?

make sure windows is set to private, not public
disable any vpn
if using wifi, check router settings, disable wifi isolation for the ssid you use
steam -> settings -> remote play -> allow direct = all/auto/my not disabled

those will force steam to use internet relays instead of direct connection, and use your internet upload and download even on lan connections

if streaming outside host location, check the host upload speed to internet
and bandwidth limit on host to about 75% of that
steam -> settings -> remote play -> advanced client options -> bandwidth limit

i use different network and my windows is in private and also turned off all vpn then i did this way but i still have that problem.
how fast is the internet upload speed at the host location?

steams remote play needs 30-50mb/s for a good quality 1080p stream
you can try limiting streaming to 720p or bandwidth lower, but it will add more lag and lower image quality (artifacting/smearing no full frame refreshes)
