SteamLink connection works but freezes when game is active

Hello everybody,

so I got a Steam Link recently and connected it properly. I can stream my pc on my TV and can remote control my pc. I can open mails/firefox etc, access Steam settings etc with no problems. However, when I start a game and I am actively in the game window the game is frozen with a red connection symbol in the bottom left corner. Interstingly when I ALT+Tab with the keyboard connected to SteamLink I can see the game working in the Tab View. When I activate the window again it freezes.

Has anyone of you encountered the same error?
What may be a solution to this?

host and client types?

what does the connection test say?
link hardare -> connect list -> select pc -> test connection
android link app -> gear -> computer -> select pc -> network test

there are subforums for each device type, this is generally for physical steam link hardware

I've had his exact problem on the android app, so this might be what he's talking about.

I have steam opened on my PC and want to stream a game to my TV. both are connected via LAN. The connection works for everything except when I am starting a game in Steam
