Performance and Positioning Issues with Steam Link on Pico 4 VR
Hello Steam Support Team,
I am writing to report several critical issues I’ve encountered while using the Steam Link app on my Pico 4 headset. These problems significantly impact the user experience and comfort.
Issues encountered:
1. Positioning Jitter & Dashboard Jumps: When turning my head, there is a noticeable jitter in the image. Additionally, the SteamVR dashboard frequently "jumps" or shifts position abruptly, which is very disorienting and causes motion sickness.
2. Black Borders (Edges): During head movements, large black bars/borders appear at the edges of the field of view (FOV). It seems like the frame rendering or transmission cannot keep up with the head rotation.
3. Stability & Crashes: I am experiencing frequent crashes where SteamVR suddenly stops responding, forcing a complete restart of the session.
It is important to note that these issues do not occur when using alternative streaming solutions on the same hardware and network setup. Both Virtual Desktop and Pico Connect provide a smooth, stable experience without the jitter, black bars, or frequent SteamVR hangs mentioned above.
I would appreciate any guidance on potential fixes or information on whether these are known bugs currently being addressed in future Steam Link updates for Pico headsets.
My Setup:
Headset: Pico 4 (OS Version: 5.13.7.s)
PC Connection: Wi-Fi 6

On point 3, I suspect this is the same issue that's affected a number of phones/tablets, and should be fixed in the next beta.
That said, the Pico is running a version of Android (and VR atop it), so you'll probably do better to post this in either the Quest VR subforum (since it uses the same variant of the Android app).

not exactly, cause there is Meta quest subforum exist, witch means its differs from android version, witch means meta quest subforum is more suitable ). We need Pico subforum )
You ever fix this? It's completely unusuable.
