Steam link no longer properly streaming
The problem I am facing now after 3 months of proper streaming between my TV and the host PC, that now the moment I turn on Big Picture mode on the steam link I see the Valve intro and the spinning animation with sound but then it drops the connection and just kicks me back to the menu.

some more information:
The Steam Link is connected through the Ethernet cable which kicks me back to the menu when I am connecting so at the moment when I see the valve animation logo. I can ping the Steam link from my PC. They are on the same subnet mask as well,

I see the network test showing me 30mb/s and I have the settings of streaming set to Fast.

I have updated both my NVIDIA driver and Ethernet driver to the latest version, I turned off all the decoders on the host PC for remote play.

I have no issues with the Wi-Fi connection that one does not kick me off the connection, but I rather have it connected through the cable to reduce latency and lag.

Steam Link (hardware) or App?

How does your connection test look when ran in Balanced or Beautiful?

Run a ping test of the Steam Link IP address from within your router web interface.
This is on the hardware itself, I did not test on beautiful or balanced.

Also I will use a new network cable and see what happens. Else the only thing I can think of is turn off the modem itself entirely and hope that could solve it.

The ping test sounds like a good plan as well.
See what Balanced & Beautiful tell you.

I too m having an issue with the connection test when running both Balanced & beautiful. I'm also running the Steam Link hardware (LAN connected with CAT 6).

Have a read here:

I also am thinking of just rolling back to last years steam link update to see if that fixes it. Around the 900 update

if on lan, use beautiful, and set bandwidth to unlimited
on host and client

steam link hardware is only 1080p60
and it only needs 30-50mb/s
any modern wifi can do that fine, and is lan port is only 100mb/s
I have found the issue, the problem is with my modem itself. I tried a connection between my router and pc directly and that worked without issues.

I might need to just turn off my modem completely and restart, but I will do that tomorrow.
Connect all your PCs to the Router. Has is the Modem, which is for your overall internet connection the issue here?
the router may be using isolation to separate the connections from talking directly to each other

if you are using wifi, disable isolation for the ssid you use, and lan
some may call them v-lan or virtual lan
I have finally solved it,

I changed the router of mine to bridging and now I am on the same subnet as the modem.
The problem was that that the host PC was not on the same subnet.
Why didn't you already have it in bridged mode? You kind of have to, for the modem to give the router ports internet connection
The router was in router mode before this problem even occurred, I don't know what happened in the background that it started to even act up like this I made no changes on the router or modem before all of this.

But the scenario is that I have a router upstairs and the PC upstairs the pc is connected with the router via cable and the modem being downstairs that cable is connected with the router upstairs through the Internet port while the PC is connected to the ethernet port.
