I know ROMS' version, I just cannot find an emulator for PC.
If I use "MameUI64.143", it tells me 2/3 of my ROMS are not working, while opening them in Mame4all on the Link, they do work.

Try retroarch, that allows you to emulator most things.

Thanks, I tried briefly but I didn't understand how to load a ROM. Will check it out later.

If I load core MAME2000 and then try to laod a ROM, Retroarch quits... Do you have any link with a simple tutorial?

Nevermind, it's too complicated for my taste. Couldn't even go to settings with mouse only...
I'll keep doing as I've done so far.

The Steam Link MAME example is based on MAME4ALL, and should work on your PC if you build it with SDL 2.0 development libraries.

I compiled it following the README on github but if I extract its content and execute, I get this:

You need to run make manually. Don't use the build script, that builds it for Steam Link. :)

If you get an error like this:
src/sdl/minimal.h:35:17: fatal error: SDL.h: No such file or directory

Install the libsdl2-dev package:
sudo apt-get install libsdl2-dev

You'll also need to grab the latest code from GitHub, since I fixed building on 64-bit Linux.

I just built it using your instructions and it runs very well, even on the VirtualBox VM.
Hopefully I will be able to dismiss all of the worst roms easily now
