Steam Link

Snes native port?
Hey, I'm loving the MAME port and made me think about snes porting - I don't really know much about Snes9x(or -next) or retroarch's infrastructures and how it matches with Steam Link SDK, but would either of them actually be portable for Steam Link and what would it take? Or is there another snes emu that would port easier?

Would LOVE to have both MAME and Snes emus running straight on the Link without having to even think of a host PC..

Edit: There's a whole conversation on porting to R Pi 2: https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=78&t=101215

And Retroarch on Pi: https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=78&t=56070

Cheers,
PJ

Porting Mednafen would be more beneficial, since it supports a fair bit. I'll see if there is a chance I know enough to compile that in the SDK environment. Not sure. Retroarch I think has a bit of dependencies to resolve before something like that works. Who knows though, since I haven't played around with the SDK in a little while.

Great, looking good. I don't really get the whole porting thing (trying to get my head around it) but managed to build the MAME so when there's something to test out, let me know. WIll be keeping an eye out for changes in Git.

Edit: Could someone give / point to a quick explanation as to what the main differences of Link and Pi are (in terms of porting) and explain why if something has been ported to Pi, just building it in Link wouldn't work? As far as I understand they both have same processor (Pi 2) and support GLES and SDL..

Cheers
