Ubuntu 22.04 - Screen turning off
If I walk away from my laptop for a few minutes the screen turns off, even when Steam Link is running and in focus.

Are you not requesting the display stay on when Steam Link is running?

TL;DR
Open a terminal and run
flatpak override --user --talk-name=org.freedesktop.ScreenSaver com.valvesoftware.SteamLink

What's going on?
Apparently they use SDL_DisableScreenSaver[wiki.libsdl.org] to prevent the screen from turning off.

What happens next depends on the SDL video driver:

The X11 driver tries to use org.freedesktop.ScreenSaver[specifications.freedesktop.org] D-Bus API to inhibit idle timeouts and falls back to the X11 Screen Saver Extension[www.x.org] if that fails.

The Wayland driver also tries the D-Bus path first but falls back to the Idle inhibit[wayland.app] Wayland protocol instead.

This is where the trouble begins: Mutter (GNOMEs Wayland compositor) doesn't support that protocol yet[gitlab.gnome.org] and the Steam Link Flatpak release lacks the permission to access the D-Bus interface.

Not sure if this is the correct place to report bugs but Valve should probably add that permission to the Flatpak considering that many popular distributions including Ubuntu ship with GNOME / mutter + Wayland as default these days.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.
This is also fixed in the latest update.

Thanks!
