Gyro latency with the Steam Controller 2 on Linux
The normal input is fine but gyro seems to be behind quite a few milliseconds. Is this universal?

This is specifically in the standalone Steam Link client on Linux?

If you have Steam installed on that Linux machine, does running the controller test in Steam show the same latency? (Go to Settings -> Controllers, pick the Steam Controller and pick Details, then scroll down to "Calibration & Advanced Settings" and click Open, then pick "Gyro Calibration" and you should see indicators for each gyro axis.)

Yeah I just tried it. Seems very responsive on the calibration page. I also noticed other forms of mouse input like my touchpad lagging behind now. Maybe an issue with mouse in general?
Hm. Can you give some details on your setup? (What distro/version, etc.)

KDE Neon Unstable since it was easiest to setup Plasma Bigscreen on before it finally releases next month
Hrm. Okay, I'll see later if I can't set up an image of that distro to test on.

If you have a different Linux install you can also test on (since it's not exactly uncommon for those of us on Linux to have multiple Linux images we can boot on a given machine), would you be able to check and see if you see the same latency there?

I'd have to Liveboot and see if that's fine but idk if you can even install Steam Link in that environment

You *should* be able to since it's pretty small; liveboot images usually use a ramdisk image which only exists for that boot session and which has limited space. So if you installed it, it should work, but it will be gone again the next time you boot that liveboot image.

The catch would be if the liveboot image didn't have flatpak installed, but I think most will.
