Steam Link Android audio/video out of sync
The Android version of Steam Link has a problem where the audio is out of sync with the video, it's delayed by I'd guess about 200ms or so. This is very easy to prove: play any game with gunshots within earshot of the computer you're streaming from, and the sound enabled on both client and server. You'll see that the muzzle flash is identical between the two screens (because low latency local network), but the audio of the Android client is significantly delayed. You'll hear a second shot, and it won't line up with the flash. This is true of any game, or even of Steam Big Picture Mode, or YouTube even. This happens on my Google Pixel 5 running Android 12, as well as on my Motorola G Play 2021 running Android 11. It does *not* happen on my Macbook Pro (14" 2021), the gunshots sound perfectly in sync with each other.

And yes, before you ask, this is all on regular built-in speakers, no bluetooth lag here.

I've tried enabling H265, NVFBC, different framerates, none of them fix the issue. Also, with identical settings, identical host computer, and identical games, my Macbook Pro doesn't have the same issue.

Something on Android is specifically lagging the audio, separate from the video.

are you using bt speakers or headset?

those are always about 100+ ms behind
As I said in the original post, I'm using built-in speakers on all devices, no bluetooth anything. I'm super aware of bluetooth lag, this ain't it.
had the same issue with the most up to date version off the play store on android 11, seemed like it was happening with the app itself since even the basic menu outside of streaming had notable audio delay
checked for high system audio latency just to be sure and it was fine
installing an older version of steam link made the issue go away, the delay seems to have started in 1.1.82, at least on my setup
versions below that worked fine
I know this post is rather old now, but I was about to make a new post about this issue when I saw this one while searching. I have noticed the exact same issues OP described. My Android Sony TV as well as both my and my girlfriend's S21 has around 200ms or so of consistent audio latency. My old 2010 MacBook Pro stuck using software decoding doesn't have this issue on Windows or OS X, leading me to believe it isn't a configuration issue on the host device. Furthermore, these same Android devices don't have the audio latency when using Moonlight (open-source Nvidia Gamestream app). And yes yes, the same as you - no bluetooth, 5G WiFi, et cetera. This has been ongoing for a long time now (I'd say a year at least?) and nothing I've tried has resolved it. For me personally, this makes Steam Link on my phone unusable, forcing me to use Moonlight.

I'm curious if the OP is still having this issue. I know a few changelogs have mentioned improvements to audio latency, but I have yet to notice any improvement myself despite checking every update.
