Mouse issues in 1.4.2
Since the latest update, if I drag while holding the middle or right button (e.g. to pan/rotate in Planet Coaster/Zoo) then it gets stuck in that mode and I can't click anything. It's almost like it receives the mouse down event but not the mouse up event.

Mouse support is degraded in the latest version, and completely broken in any games without a cursor. Revert to 1.3.32 until the issue is resolved.
Please provide not only Android variant (device and Android version) but mouse version.

For instance, on Samsung Tab A7 and Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max, with Logi M196 Bluetooth mouse, the old version would generate an enter key instead of a mouse click due to Android generating fallback events. This version has mouse work correctly on those.

On Samsung S21, both the old version and the new one worked fine with left mouse click. On the other two devices, using a Microsoft Bluetooth mouse also worked under both builds.

It seems likely the change that fixed mouse on those by ignoring Android fallback keyboard events has broken it for other devices, so being able to reproduce with a specific device/Android version/mouse would be super helpful.
Mice: Microsot Bluetooth, iClever Bluetooth, Logitech Bluetooth
Devices: Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra (Android 15), Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ (Android 16), Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra (Android 17)

None of the above work in any combination of mouse/device with Steam Link 1.4.2. All work flawlessly with 1.3.32.

Do you have model numbers? It could actually be relevant; for instance, when trying to reproduce the click-sends-enter issue previously, the Logitech MX Master 3S did *not* present the problem, where the Logitech M196 *did* send enter on click.

If not, that's okay, but if I *can* precisely reproduce the setup, I'd like to.

Sure:

iClever MD360
Microsoft Surface Precision 1818
Logitech M720 Triathlon

Also, note that my response to this thread initially was referring to mouse functionality in the latest build as a whole. I don't have the same issue described above; my mice stop working entirely in game (some of them allow cursor movement in menu, but then completely die in games with no cursor like first-person ones). I don't experience the "enter on click" issue because the mouse fails to work at all, just like the users in the pinned 4.1.2 thread and my prior issue with the beta build.

If you want to keep this issue separate from the OP, that discussion is happening in the pinned thread.

I can reproduce this, and I'm looking into it.

With the exception of the above-mentioned bit about mouse sticking, however, I cannot reproduce this -- I grabbed a Logi M196 (because it's conveniently already at my desk) and my Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, and I can use the mouse in Big Picture and games just fine. :(

I've ordered an M720 Triathlon which'll arrive tomorrow, so I'll see if I can't reproduce this with the S21 over the weekend.
Okay, I've tracked down what's going on with the Planet Zoo issue that chrisbaume is having and have a fix for that.

I've also taken the opportunity to just rewrite a bunch of the mouse-handling code; I'm going to test it out on as many Android devices as I can find this weekend, and we'll probably make a quick test build (e.g. not a full beta) for folks who are having mouse issues to try out early next week.
Great to hear - thanks @Packetdancer!

Just to confirm, the combos I've tried are as below, all with a Win 10 host:
- Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+ with Logitech M196
- Xiaomi Pad 6 with Logitech M196
- Xiaomi Pad 6 with generic BT mouse

FWIW, I picked up an M720 Triathlon threw it and my S21 Ultra into the test matrix I ran through this weekend, and everything worked fine across several different games.

So when we do a one-off quick test build this coming week, I'd be curious if the build fixes mouse for you as well.

any updates on this? I about drove myself INSANE yesterday thinking there was something wrong with my input settings ... was completely baffled that mouse movements still worked but all clicks (left, middle, right) did not register whatsoever ... the solace i received after seeing these more 'recent' posts about the issue is unfathomable lol.

Hey there, didn't realize you were a dev from the reddit post! The latest beta did fix the issue with not being able to left/right click using my mouse - but now my scrollwheel doesn't work. Not sure if you've seen this in your testing?

Hardware info if it helps:
Google Pixel 10 Pro XL
Logitech M196

Good. I am in no way dumb enough to advertise that fact there openly. I would never know peace again. ;)

Hm. I *did* test scroll wheel, but I wonder if it's another one where different ones are sending it different ways. I'll try a few more mouse/device combos.

Forgot to ping you here, but -- there's a new post linking the beta build.

To double-check... is this not working everywhere? Or not working in a specific game? I've tried several Android phones and two different Logitech mice, and I can scroll in Steam, in VS Code, etc.
All of my mouse issues have been resolved by the latest beta build. Many thanks for your help Packetdancer.
