Steam Link

Stretch, Mantain Proportion, Scale Options on Android Devices
Hello,

I am currently using the Orange Pi Zero 3 with Android 12 TV (32-bit), and it works incredibly well! I use this device to play retro games on an NTSC CRT TV. The Orange Pi Zero 1/2/3 and Orange Pi Zero 2W all feature an AV output, which allows me to stream and play retro games on this setup via Steam Link.

However, I am experiencing a rather strange issue. Even though the signal outputs in NTSC and fills the entire CRT screen, the Android system treats the internal resolution as 720p. To get around this—since I only use this setup for emulation—I configure the emulators to force a full-screen image. This workaround works perfectly in RetroArch, both natively on the Orange Pi and when streaming through Steam Link.

The problem arises when I try to play older PC games (for example, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time). The game runs at 640x480, and Steam Link automatically preserves the aspect ratio. As a result, it adds black bars to the left and right sides of the image, even though my TV is already a native 4:3 screen.

As a potential solution, it would be amazing if we could manually control or change the aspect ratio settings directly inside the Steam Link app. Having a "Stretch" or "Fill" option for the stream would allow users in my situation to fully utilize the display area.

Thank you in advance for your time and attention!

You're welcome! :)
So this is probably the wrong way of reaching out. But I've recently found my steamlink device. Trying to get it up to date and working well. Does anyone have any tutorial that shows how to set it up in the most ideal way? Setting up moonlight, updating it to the correct build number since beta is being worked on still? I'm a bit lost and would like a nice launchpad to start tweaking my settings
I'm not very familiar with using the actual Steam Link hardware. In my case, I use an Android device, so I just had to download the APK that I found on other forums or through the Play Store.
