Dualsense touchpad and gyro not working properly over bluetooth
When I have my dualsense paired to my chromecast 4K or Pixel 7 Pro via bluetooth, gyro input does not work at all and the touchpad is forced to be a mouse input for Android. When I plug my dualsense directly into my phone via a USB cable, gyro and the touchpad work perfectly, as if connected directly to the computer or steam link hardware. The touchpad lights are even different depending on which way the controller is connected. On bluetooth, the sides are dark blue and the bottom is white. On USB (or direct PC or steam link hardware), the touchpad lights are blue-green (what I've set it to for steam input).

Is this a bug with the steam link software? Or is it something that Android just has to do and there's no way around it?

I see the line where it says it won't do it: Touchpad and gyro will not be pass through to steam when using Steam Link on android.

But is there a specific reason WHY it won't do it?

Yes, Android does not pass that information along to the app when the controller is connected over Bluetooth. You can connect using USB and give Steam Link permission to use its own driver, which does support touchpad and gyro.
