Steam Link

Steam Link

Steam Link as a stand-alone OS? Possible?
Hi, I would like to ask if is possible to see Steam Link independent from Raspbian Stretch, an OS like RetroPie or OSMC?

For now, Steam Link is a program that needs Raspbian Stretch sources, but seeing that there are operating systems that are built from Raspbian like OSMC is based on KODI built in Debian Linux ecosystem and RetroPie is built on top of Raspbian Stretch, is possible?

For now, you can install RetroPie inside of Raspbian Stretch as a program, or you can install as a full OS.

Whatever is the answer, I would like to say thank you very much to bring Steam Link to the Raspberry system.

Cheers!

I would definitely love to see Steam Link as a dedicated app! This is a must !! +1 from me
download rasbian lite without x then install steamlink and make a systemd file and then its done.

its really easy to do so there isnt a need for a full iso for all of this basically a all needed is some files.

can see if i can find some time over this weekend and make that happen

I know this post is pretty old. But it implies that steamlink does not need a running X server?!
