Steam performance on pi4 very subpar on non steam games

There doesn't seem to be literally anything you can adjust manually to tweak how steam streams games you've added to your own library. Compare to for example Parsec, which decodes fantastically on a pi2 (!), and does actually have a list of recommendations and tweaks that you can do if things aren't working great.

Is anyone aware of anything that could help me?

Which non-Steam games in particular have the problems? I run a handful of Epic games through Steam Link (Godfall, Jurassic World Evolution, etc.) and they seem to run fine, 1080p@60Hz. No real issues or lag.

Hopefully Parsec is out for 4b soon. I know Parsec posted a message on 12/9/2020 that they are working on Pi4 support now that new video libraries have been incorporated into the OS.
