Steam Link

Steam Link

1.1.99.240 broke Xone by Medusalix which was was my Xbox One Wireless USB Adapter Driver
So my Steamlink on my Raspberry Pi 400 was previously working fine around a week ago with 1.1.98 something. I was able to sync the controller np I use Bullseye so id have to press Ctrl + alt + f2, log in in command line and launch Steamlink. Everything worked great with the minor visual annoyance of the mouse glitching back and forth for some reason which is still happening in the current version.

Anyway, I go to launch Steamlink, it auto updates itself to 1.1.99.240 and now I have my controller synced with Xone Steam Link just crashes with the following:

/home/Dersh/.local/share/SteamLink/steamlink.sh: line 198 2663 Segmentation fault LD_PRELOAD=$QT_WFA_EGLFS_PRELOAD shell "$e"
-The number of the Segmentation Fault seems to change every time it crashes.

The Raspberry Pi 400 has to be Force powered off as its frozen.

However: if I do not have the Xbox One Wireless adapter in the usb port and the controller is not synced with Xone still installed Steam Link will launch and Load with no controller.

So from 1.1.98 to 1.1.99.240 has broken Xone by Medusalix

I reverted to the older Xow by Medusalix. Steamlink launches and I am still able to use the same controller and wireless usb adapter without it crashing.

Ive also tried uninstalling Steamlink and deleting /home/Dersh/.local/share/SteamLink/ folder and all files before reinstalling but it doesnt matter. Im pretty new to the whole Raspberry Pi thing so this is pretty much as much info as I can give.

This is fixed for the next update, thanks!
I am happy to report that you have infact with this version fixed the crash at startup with the Xone by Medusalix Xbox One Wireless adapter driver.

The only thing I see that has been present for as long as I can remember using Steam Link on Raspberry Pi is is quite a few games the mouse cursor jumps around by a few inches. Not an issue with a controller based game but anything else it makes the game unplayable.

Though I am not sure if its an issue on your end or the developers themselves who make their games compatible with Remote Play because some games don't suffer from it.

Can you list a few games that have the problem and some that don't?
Games that do have the mouse going all glitchy back and forth when visible:
Of Mice and Sand Revised, Bum Simulator, Brigador: Up-Armored Edition, 7 days to Die, Crimsonland, Doom (2016), tried Nex Machina its tagged as "Remote Play Optimized" but no video is produced on the client, Valheim.

The Ascent seems to sometimes do it other times the mouse is good. Aliens Fire Team Elite seems good. Simmiland was good, Speed Runners is fine, Terraria was good.

I have 1450 steam games in my Library with 270 games installed listed as Remote Play Optimized. I mostly just tried games at random besides the Of Mice And Sand, which I remembered as being an issue.

Hopefully you all can track down this mouse issue and fix it for good as in 3d games that involve using a mouse to play it makes them unplayable, especially 3d games. Some controller designed games were also effected and unplayable.

Let me know if you need more info. All games I tried were listed as Remote Play Optimized and I have a Raspberry Pi 400, using the mouse that came with it.
I can get a video if you want of it mouse thing happening on Steam Link on the Raspberry Pi if you need but it will have to be with my cell phone and posted to youtube because I have no idea how to do screen capture on a Pi.
I just tried Valheim with my Raspberry Pi 4B, at 1080p with 128M of video RAM and I was able to see the cursor on the title screen just fine.

Are you seeing issues on the title screen of Valheim? If so, what resolution are you streaming at, and how much video memory do you have configured on your Pi?
Its happening both at 720p and 1920 x 1080 for the games I listed. Im using the Raspberry Pi 400 which is like a all in one built in a mini keyboard. I have it set to 512mb of video ram actually. Should I reduce that?

It it was most noticeable with Of Mice and Sand Revised, in this game the mouse moves around but it doesnt affect the gameplay of this one with the controller, this is the one I have the most experience in. But in other games like bum simulator it makes the mouse cursor is inaccurate because its jumping around which makes even starting the game difficult as the options highlighted in the main menu keep shifting even when using the controller so I can only imagine trying to play the game and selecting with something in the inventory would not be pleasant.

I personally cant play 3d games like FPS with a controller so I kind of need this mouse thing to work for 90% of what I plan to play.

Not sure if this would be a factor and I honestly cant remember if I had Steam Link up and running before I installed it but I use Gnome and not the gui that came with the Raspberry Pi OS.

So far all I have done to this Raspberry Pi 400 is increase the video memory from whatever it was by default to 512mb. Install Gnome, update the OS, install Xone, Install Plex, and install Steam Link, plus whatever libraries those would entail since I actually just follewed some guides from https://pimylifeup.com/

So i would try Of Mice and Sand, and Bum simulator and see if it happens for you. I should note I can see the cursor fine too, it is just all over the place glitching back and forth so its area of what its selecting is moving too, but the cursor is still visible, its not like its invisible for me.
Yes, I think a video would be helpful to understand what you're seeing. Also try turning off HEVC in the advanced streaming options, if that's enabled.

Alright so I made a video as requested showing the issue in a couple games. HEVC in the advanced settings is off already (its never been turned on). The video I made is posted to YouTube for easy viewing, I tried to keep it as short as possible.

Games involved in the video are:
Of Sand and Mice Revised
Bum Simulator
