Pi4: Black Screen while enabeling Nvidia Encoding
Hi,

i use a Raspberry Pi 4 with Raspbian Buster with desktop. My Gaming PC is a
I7 8700k with a Geforce 1080 TI. Both Systems are wired to a 1GB network.

My Problem is now, if i enable Nvidia Encoding on the Remote Settings on the Pi i get a
black screen in the menu. i have to disable it on my pc, because i cant see anyting on the pi anymore.

Geforce Experience is not installed on my PC.
i searched the internet for solutions, but i didnt find anything related to my problem.

any ideas?

sincerely

I had the problem even before updating the nvidia drivers.
I have now done the update and upgrade, a lot of things have actually been installed here, also for steam.
unfortunately it is still not possible.
I use the hdmi port you mentioned, right next to the power connection.
if i activate nvidia-gpu encoding in the host options, the screen on the PI turns black
Yes it is Windows 10. Now it gets more complicated. I only installed Raspbian Buster with desktop. No other extra drivers. So I don't know how much is assigned to the GPU. I don't even know where I can see and change that.
There should also be no experimental driver installed, at least I didn't say anywhere to do it.
Great, your information was very helpful :)
I have set the GPU Ram on the max. possible (512). I set the GL driver to FAKE KMS, because Full KMS is not available on the Pi 4. With NVIDIA Encoding activated, I finally have a picture.
But, with the settings, I have a terrible input lag of over a second. So I switched back to the normal GL driver, but left the rest. It currently works perfectly :)
yes indeed. so increasing the gpu ram was the solution. thanks for your help :)
