I've been trying to get my raspberry pi5 (running raspberry pi OS lite) to work with steamlink. Everything seems to be running fine, except for the audio. As soon as I start steamlink no sound is played. I tried using Kodi to see if that produces sound, and there the sound works. I tried streaming from my host pc (running fedora linux) to a different device and then the sound works as well. Following advice on the raspberry forum I tried a general soundcheck for the connected hdmi port, and that worked fine. I also tried changing between both hdmi ports, but both had the same result. Finally, I also tried re-installing steamlink, but nothing changed.

When I start steamlink an error log appears:
Mix_OpenAudioDevice() failed: ALSA: Unsupported audio format
Couldn't find sound data in ":/resources/sounds/click.wav"

When searching for that error message I mainly found fixes related to a /home/.asoundrc file that you could edit, but I don't seem to have that file. And I'm not sure if I should create it.

All the other forum posts I found with similar issues were all either quite old and/or about different pi models. I'm now at a loss for how I can fix this. Any help/advice would be appreciated!
