Xbox Controller Select Button Doesn’t Map Properly on Apple TV
ISSUE
The select button on my Xbox Series S controller is getting mapped to the guide button. The Apple TV client reads the button properly but over Steam Link, it gets detected as the guide button. It used to work prior to the fall update.

OS
Windows 10

STEPS
Connect Xbox controller to Apple TV
Start Steam Link and connect to PC
Run any game

RESULTS
Observe that the select button doesn’t work and only brings up the Steam overlay


EXPECTED
The select button should actually work and map properly to any game. I have games that cannot be played now because they need the select button.

I'm having the same issue, it prevents me from using this button, which is common used in games such as Hogwarts Legacy to access the map. I've trie every setting on every layer of Apple TV and the steam app and steam, and nothing works. The Apple Steam Link app can't seem to handle the select button.

Same issue for me. I have to re-map it and sacrifice a different button in each game. It's silly.

Would be awesome to have a fix for this. The app is so incredibly useful, but this is a real game-breaker.
