FAQs
Do I need a subscription to use Vitruve Speed?+
No. The gates work with or without a subscription. Sprint timing and reaction modes are yours out of the box; the subscription is optional and never required.
Do I need an emitter and a reflector to set up a gate?+
No. One device per gate, nothing on the other side of the lane. The dual-lens LIDAR optics detect the athlete on their own, so there is no reflector to place and no beam to align. Set the tripod down and run.
Does the athlete have to wear anything?+
Nothing. No chip on the waistband, no transmitter, no watch. LIDAR detects the athlete as they cross the gate.
How many gates can I run at once?+
There is no limit. Sync as many gates as your session needs, multi-channel, so you can run several sprint lanes simultaneously.
Does it work outdoors, in direct sun and rain?+
Yes. It is built to handle long days in direct sunlight and rainy sessions, on the track or the field.
How long does the battery last?+
8 to 10 hours per charge, over USB-C. No disposable batteries to swap and fewer units to charge than a photocell + reflector setup.
Does it work with Vitruve Force?+
Same app, same athlete profiles. Strength work from the encoder and speed work from the gates sit side by side in the same history and exports.
