Farewell to the Kellys

 

 Dan and Darlene are going on a mission to South Korea for 18 months.  We were lucky to have one last gathering with them!  Of course, instruments and singing were involved!  Just like when I was a kid!

 

  

 These girls wanted some "business" and so I prayed that this nail polish wouldn't seep anything bad into my system since they were so happy for a customer.

Where did they come with the idea of rapping?  I don't know, but they asked me to come watch this one day and I had to video tap them and try not to laugh!!!

Snow!

On Friday evening - it started snowing.  Beautiful, soft, just like 4-5 inches.

Didn't keep Ak from going to a friend's birthday party - PJ party till bedtime.

Then in the morning, it was fun to play in since it's been the first snow this year!  The girls build this snowman.

Z had a friend over from school to go sledding!

 

I helped build a tall snowman since D was off at a college class.  Those balls of snow were HEAVY to lift!

Then Ak got to play with our neighbor girl.  Note the pond - not frozen.  The temperatures were rising that same day.   So odd, to get snow and by Sunday it was melting away.

 

Basketball

Z is playing basketball with a competitive league this season.  We're excited for him learning more!  Some of these boys you can tell have already played a lot of basketball in their life!

 He got to play against a team with a friend from church.  :)

 And Grandpa got to see him at one game!

Frankincense

Warning:  you may want to skip this post if feet gross you out.  Especially since when I remembered to take pictures was right before bath time.  :)   You don't have to tell Ak that you saw pictures of "Fred" (a wart on her toe) since she was very sensitive to having it, she named it instead of saying what it was.   We took her to the pediatrician and they said it could/should be cut out.   She didn't really like the sound of that and I had some friends that had that procedure and the warts came back so I delayed making such an appointment.  I then remembered seeing a friend post something about using frankincense essential oil and getting rid of a wart . . . so I got some and we tried that!   Figured it couldn't hurt her and if it went away naturally - that would be great.  So we put a drop on the spot 2x a day (when we remembered).  We tried to keep it covered and the band aids and tape pulled at her skin as it turned it black. . . but she said it didn't hurt.  

 

 We were happy to see the old skin fall off and new skin underneath!
