The Beach

So a few weeks ago, the kids and I headed to the beach. It was Grace's first trip there and she slept right through it. But she looked dang cute in her 4 dollar Gap swimsuit. (Thanks Cheer for the picture above).
Of course Grant had fun with Lybbi and Bauer. They even found a sand crab! What fun!
Lybbi was very helpful!
and of course throwing sand on the umbrella beats digging in the sand.

Dolphins! (I was convinced they were sharks at first!) It was a great day...hot...but great!

Ferry Ride

We were able to go to Alameda on a ferry for a ward activity. It was a really nice day. Here are some pix from the trip. Grace was a good sport, too. We enjoyed walking along some trails and especially loved when we turned a corner and saw the Oakland Temple up on the hill.

More of Bug's Funny Sayings

Sometimes Grant is just so funny- he deserves a special post. So here are some of the latest:

* Grant was just in bed trying to go to sleep and he calls out, "Mama! I need some corn on da cob!" I am sure you do buddy but you are up past your bed time and I don't have any!

* We were driving home from the park and I said to Grant, "Dance with me bug!" He asked me, "What dis song about?" I replied, "Love." And then Grant told me, "No!" He wouldn't dance so then just to experiment I said, "It's about trucks!" Grant then started to boogie down!

* We have established that Grant is totally a 2 year old, right? Well, on the way home from a store he was throwing a tantrum and doing the classic, "Don't say that!" (He ALWAYS says that when he is upset...even if you aren't saying a thing). I was just trying to ignore the tantrum and so I was being silent. He then paused and said, "You're being naughty to me!" I started to laugh and asked what I had done. He told me, "You're trickin' me!" After a few minutes he then said, "You ruined my strawberries!" Okay, where did that one come from? I guess I owe him an apology?!?!?

Who's da Man

My hot babe is da man! That's right folks...Adam is now a CPA (Certified Public Accountant). Way to go Tiger! We are so proud of you and totally impressed with your skills. The only skills we have are numchuck skills. Seriously though, Adam worked so hard and passed all his tests on the first try with flying colors. Thanks again, babe, for all of your hard work.

Growing Up

Grace had her 2 month check today and she is doing great! We joke that she is now the size of a typical newborn. She weighs 8 lbs. 12 oz. and is 20.5 inches long. Grace is hanging out around the 5th percentile. At 4 months the doctor will start using the growth chart for kids with Down syndrome. It will be interesting to see where she falls on that.

As for Grant...I love him, I truly do but boy does he test my patience lately. I know he is only 2 but really? Why can't he just listen? And where did he learn to hit and kick. Last time I checked, we don't do that at our house. However, in his defense- his good times do outweigh the naughty times and he is an angel during those good times. Anyway, he loves to play pretend. Throughout the day Grant is: a cowboy, Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Christopher Robin, Franklin, Little Bear, Maisy, Adam Barrow, himself (he tells me by saying, "I'n Grant Adam Barrow), Bob the Builder, Big Bad Wolf, Little Pigs, Pete (from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse), Pluto, assorted animals (favorite lately is a camel cuz they spit), an astronaut on a spaceship looking for aliens and hmmmm, that about sums it up. He is great at letting us know who he is by saying this, "Ummm, I'n (fill in the blank)" followed by a pause and then in character, "Hi mom!" Any questions?

Goodbye Dear Friend

Sporty Spice has left our family (sigh). Grandma and Grandpa B were kind enough to pass their van on to us...even though I swore I would NEVER drive a mini van. We could not be more thankful for the gift and it goes to show you should never say never. As far as our little corolla- Yes, I cried when the girl drove it away. And my sweet husband kindly said, "Oh Mama...you'd cry over a Kmart special." He is so right.

Fun Filled Summer

This summer has been full of fun! Nae Nae was here for a while, then after Grace was born, the B's came out, we went to the circus, then headed to Utah. Grant had fun dressing Nae Nae up and bossing her around. He had a blast at the amazing children's museum in San Jose. He totally wiped the floor with me when we went bowling, and he LOVED playing outside at Nae Nae's and the B's while we were in UT. As for Grace, she has fun no matter what! I love my kids so much and I especially love that they both teach me a ton each day.

Grant is Growing

Is there a pause button I can push so that Grant will stop growing up so fast? Okay, the things he can do are good things and I am glad but deep down I miss my baby bug. He enjoys getting himself dressed. Even though things don't usually match and they are inside out (the shirt) and backwards (the pj shorts).
Grant has also been showing a lot of interest in the big boy potty! He has gone peepee a number of times and last night he put a "poopy in da potty"!!!! He looked down and exclaimed, "It's a big shark!" That it is son, that it is!

Grace the Great!

I forgot to mention that Grace rolls over from her tummy to her back! She started doing this in Utah on August 25th! Way to go butterfly! We are so proud of you!

Summer Fun

We went to UT this past weekend to bless Grace. We will definitely post more about the trip later. However, since I have been such a slacker about posting lately, I thought I would put a few pictures up until I have time to do a MONSTER post!
Here is little miss Grace with a pretty face and a beautiful blessing dress that my friend Cheer made.

Grant always goes up to Grace and says, "I love you!" He told Poppy, "I love my sista!" And he does...he is the BEST big brother.
I could kiss those cheeks all day long!
