Grant has loved running around my parents house. He said to me, "Dad needs to get a new job and buy a big building for us. Then we will pick NaeNae up from the airport and she will see my room and say, 'This is humongous!'" The house has been great for hide and go seek and Grant has especially loved playing with his new friend, Pate. Who might I add, has THE cutest little accent! We will miss chasing rabbits in the dark, catching frogs by the pool and on the front porch, puddle jumping on our walks past the numerous lakes in the neighborhood, "golfing" on the putting range next to the garage, watching hawks fly through the sky, searching for golf ball on the golf course behind the house, and many, many more fun things! Grant loved sitting on the bench on the front porch. We spotted a few frogs and had fun catching them. Visiting NaeNae and Pah-pee in their new house in GA has been loads of fun! It has been pretty warm here. Today it was around 70 but with 94% humidity! It has been pretty rainy but not too rainy to play outside and have loads of fun!! The other day, Grant took off all of his clothes and took a swim in the pool. Let me just say the water was FREEZING! (As you can see in this picture...I was about to die and Grant thought I was being so funny). NaeNae was a good sport though and stayed in the water a lot longer than I could handle it. Daddy hung out with Gracie on the chair and Pah-pee power washed the playhouse. As you can see, we've been having a blast...more pictures will come soon!
I have to admit that I don't love the glasses...BUT I do LOVE that she can see the world! When she put them on, her eyes got really big and she got a huge smile on her face and scanned the room. She hasn't even really tried to get them off (knock on wood). It is a good thing she is so stinkin' cute because it makes it easy for her to pull off anything. In this picture she was signing baby. She has been signing so much and loves to do the actions to Itsy Bitsy Spider and Patty Cake. Grace is such a fun girl!
We recently started something new at our house. We are a business. Currently, our name is Barrow Incorporatd; however, the CEO feels the name should be changed. Our motto is: "Where family is our business." Adam is the CEO, I am the COO and CFO, Grant is the VP of Operations, and Grace is the Director of Public Relations. We hold Board Meetings every Saturday and then Adam holds an individual Management Business Review with each member of the family on Sundays. In that meeting, each individual can discuss any concerns, likes, dislikes, etc. with the CEO. This past week, Grant mostly talked to Adam about how he doesn't like monsters. What a funny boy! We are hoping that as he grasps the concept he will be able to sincerely express what he thinks about what goes on in the family. Perhaps he will let Adam know that he doesn't like it when we say no. That will then give Adam and opportunity to validate that feeling, express why we have to say no sometimes and then ask Grant for some input on how he would like things to change if any change is possible. A meeting of the Board of Directors (the "Board") of Barrow Incorporated, Inc. (the "Company" or the "Family"), was held in the kitchen of the Company in __________ on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at approximately 8:30 am PST, pursuant to notice duly given.

Inaugural Session: It being noted, Barrow Incorporated was officially founded on __ ___, 2004 in ___________ and the Board of Directors having met unofficially from time to time, it was resolved to hold an official meeting to ensure the vision of the Family is maintained and observed. This meeting, being the first Board of Directors meeting officially held, several items of business were set forward.
Titles for management: The Board addressed the titles for each member of the Board of Directors and the Executive Management. Following a discussion and upon a motion duly made, seconded and unanimously approved, it was:
RESOLVED, that effective of the date hereof, Mr. Adam Barrow is elected as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Company, otherwise known as "Father" and to serve at the pleasure of the Board of Directors.
RESOLVED FURTHER, that effective the date hereof, Mrs. Jacqulyn Barrow is elected as the President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Company, otherwise known as "Mother" and to serve at the pleasure of the Board of Directors.
RESOLVED FURTHER, that effective the date hereof, Mr. Grant Barrow is elected as the Vice President, Operations.
RESOLVED FURTHER, that effective the date hereof, Miss Grace Barrow is elected as Director of Public Relations.
Board Meetings: The Board addressed the necessity of convening on a regular basis. Following a discussion concerning the needs of the family and upon a motion duly made and unanimously approved, it was:
RESOLVED, that effective the date hereof, a Board Meeting will be held on a weekly basis, preferably each Saturday morning, or at another time which the Board sees fit, pursuant to notice duly given.
Executive involvement: The Board addressed the need for and the required improved corporate governance resulting from personal and frequent status meeting between the Chairman and each individual member of the Executive team. After discussion and upon a motion duly made and unanimously approved, it was:
RESOLVED, that effective the date hereof, each Sunday, the Chairman will hold an individual Management Business Review (MBR) or PPI with each individual member of the executive team and Board. Such meetings will occur at least weekly every weekend, or as frequent as the Chairman sees fit.
Calendar: The Board discussed the calendar items for the coming week and other noteworthy items.
Sunday, November 22, 2009 - Bishop's Fireside - to be held at the _______________ All members of the Board of Directors will be in attendance either at the fireside or in the nursery with assigned care takers.

Other Items: The Board also discussed other items such as Christmas plans and logistics.
Adjournment: There being no further business of the Board, and upon a motion duly made, the meeting was adjourned at approximately 9:00 AM.
When Grace had her g-tube and nissen surgery back in October, Grandma B. was able to come out and help (what a lifesaver). Grant adores Grandma B.He was so happy to have such a great playmate. One day, Grant and Grandma B. had a cute little conversation. I asked Grandma B. to type it up so here is what she wrote:"Grant was holding my arm and then my watch caught his eye:
Grant: Who gave you that watch, Grandma B?
Me: Someone who loves me very much. Who do you think loves me very much?
(Grant looks at the ceiling while thinking, then answers)
Grant: Grandpa B?
Me; Yes. Grandpa B gave me this watch.
(Grant looks at the ceiling while thinking again, then answers)
Grant: Why does Grandpa B. love you?
Me: That’s a good question. Why do you think he loves me so much?
(Grant looks at the ceiling again while thinking, then answers)
Grant: Because you listen to Jesus?
Me: Yes, that could be why he loves me.
(He again thinks for a moment)
Grant: Hadlie (his friend) listens to Jesus. I could marry her.
My immediate thought: Call Joel and tell him I know a good speaker for our next FHE in the YSA ward! :)"

If You Give a Gorilla a Gumball
If you give a Gorilla a gumball, he’ll want to blow bubbles.
Blowing bubbles will remind him of going outside.
Outside, he’ll put his gumball in the sand.Then he’ll pretend the sand is sprinkles.
He’ll ask for some water to make a gumball mud pie.
And chances are, if he makes a gumball mud pie, he’ll ask you to eat it with him.
If You Give a Jaguar a Blanket
If you give a jaguar a blanket, he’ll just ask for a bad cheetah to get him.
A bad cheetah will remind him of a jaguar plate.
On the jaguar plate there will be some jelly beans and the jaguar will want to play marbles with them.
When he is playing marbles, he’ll ask the cheetah to play with him and he’ll want to chase him and get his girlfriend.
The girlfriend will like the jaguar and they will get married in the temple.
And chances are, if they get married, they will get a blanket for a present.
If You Give a Baboon a Walrus Toy
If you give a baboon a walrus toy, they will get married in the temple.
Then they will go on a plane to Cheetahville and play with all the cheetahs.
Playing with all the cheetahs will remind them of the farm.
So they will fly to a farm.
On the farm there will be chickens.
The baboon and walrus toy will give them leaves (cuz baboons like leaves).
The leaves will make baboon think of a tree so he’ll climb a tree and eat fruit.
October is National Down Syndrome Awareness Month! This year we are excited to participate in The Buddy Walk™ ! Last year we didn't go but this year we are SO there! TheBuddy Walk™ is a 1-mile walk to raise funds and awareness, and to promote inclusion and acceptance of individuals with Down syndrome. We thought it would be fun to create a "team" (thanks for the encouragement Shawn & Kate) so Grace has a website. We are so thankful for our sweet little angel. We are so glad that Heavenly Father sent her to us!
Okay, first of all, does she look like a doll? The answer would be yes...and a very cute doll at that! While Nae Nae was visiting us, Grant was able to use his charm to get her to buy him ANOTHER Halloween costume. Every house does need a dragon around--our little "Eggbert" as he calls himself, keeps us very safe. Grant really is such a funny boy. While we were driving to the park today, he told me that he was going to go on a mission to the mountains with polar bears. And then he stated that when he got big and was like daddy, he was going to get a girl and get married in the temple. I asked what kind of a girl he wanted to marry and he replied, "I want to marry Grace!" I explained that we don't marry our sisters and so he thought for a minute and exclaimed, "I know, I want to marry Hadlie!" He then thoughtfully asked me, "Does Hads love Heavenly Father and Jesus?" I answered that she did and so he said, "Oh good, then I will marry her and after that I will dance with her." Sounds good, Bug! We just found out that Grace has scarring in her lungs. We will be meeting with the surgeon on Oct. 7th in regards to getting her g-tube and nissen. The scarring is from her problems with aspiration and all of the pneumonia that she gets. Hopefully, with the g-tube we won't be dealing with pneumonia every 4 to 6 weeks. She has been such a trooper through all of the testing and she is getting more and more patient with getting hooked up to her monitors every night. Pretty much we have the cutest, sweetest kids in the world!
Those of you that follow our blog might remember our beautiful friend Lucy. She has Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) Type 1. I wanted to post the announcement that her mom, Cherisse, posted on their blog. We think this is a great cause so we wanted to pass it on. We love you little, angel Lucy.
Some of you know that in March of this year, our now 10-month old daughter, Lucy, was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) Type 1. SMA is the leading genetic killer of infants.The disease is a terminal, degenerative disease that affects motor neurons, resulting in progressive muscular atrophy and weakness. There is no treatment and no cure for this disease.
Recently, there has been groundbreaking news on a very promising treatment for SMA. They are in need of funding to get the treatment FDA approved so the clinical trials can begin January of 2010.
Several families that have been affected by SMA are uniting to raise $5,000 each to go toward this treatment, and we have decided to unite with them! Ever since Lucy was diagnosed, I have really had a desire to do something - something more than just surviving each day. I want to help raise money to find a cure, help other families who need assistance, or just spread awareness. When I heard about this promising treatment, it brought a little hope to each day.
Being a mother to Lucy's older brother and sister and taking care of Lucy takes most of my day and I wasn't sure how I would be able to do something (or anything) more. When our friends, the Strong's, asked for families who would like to help, I thought, ‘we can do this’. I feel like this goal is attainable for us and, although I am not one to ask for help…especially for money, we have many family members and friends who have asked what they can do. So, if this is something you feel like you can/will support, please use the ‘Unite for the Cure’ button below and forward on to those you feel would be interested in this cause. Can we do a betrothal? Hadlie and Grant are so cute together. Every day, Grant asks where his "Hadwie Girwool" (Hadlie Girl) is. I seriously wish these two would get married after Grant's mission...the wedding announcements are already being drafted-

The rest of the details have yet to be worked out. Honestly though, we love Shawn, Kate, Hadlie and baby Kennedy! We have had SO much fun playing with them. Last weekend, Shawn and Adam took the kids to the little nursery across the street from us while Kate and I ran open houses for our complexes. The kids enjoyed hot dogs, lemonade, cotton candy, face painting (as you can see) and they even painted flower pots with Snapdragon's in them for me and Kate. After they came home, we had Kate come over and we all enjoyed watching BYU win another game. It was also fun to have Nae Nae here with us...we are never letting her go home! Fun times in the Barrow household!
